Now i will start by saying that these aren't my photos but taken by "Cortinaboy" of this parish instead, he's asked me to post them though as he'll never get round to doing it. I don't know the full story but basically there a garden in a village in a secret location  near here full of there old Rootes Arrows gold, frankly it's amazing they are still here and apparently the house is structurally unsafe too so I suspect they aren't descend to be here much longer here...

Christ knows how long they have been here though!

I can't believe there's still cars on the back of these trucks!

Blimey, what a find. Shame they all look beyond saving

EDIT - SHITTING HELL - TAGORA!

Posted

Awesome!  I've heard about this place before. In fact I'm pretty sure it was/is owned by brothers and one of them came for a chat when he saw my car at Classics on the Common at Harpended about 6 or 7 years ago.  Doesn't look like there's a huge amount worth saving there now.  Would love one of the Huskys

I think most of them would just turn into dust now if you moved them, they must have been sat there 25-30 years now, look at that tree behind the estate, it's grown around it!

Holy moly. Yeah, 100% unsavable, they might give up the odd bit of trim here and there. They make a nice art installation though!

It's like everybody walked out of a Talbot dealership circa 1978 and the earth reclaimed it

Those hunters look 12 months old.

Was the build quality from Linwood ever that good? This lot aren't even fit for razor blades.

Wow what a find! That Tagora is a boggy Base spec Gl too. That Ns door fitted to it looks suspiciously like it was previously fitted to this Tagora Sx.post-20412-0-92323000-1492990338_thumb.jpg

It was painted in that two tone colour scheme back in the 90s when originally restored. The then owner also restored a 1976 Humber Sceptre Arrow estate around about the same time. I presume these might belong to the same gentleman. Shame they've all gone to seed, although a couple look as if they might still be retrievable.:-(

My first car was the Hillman Minx round shape with the 1725cc.  I think there is a pic of mine there with the red vinyl interior?

Normally the engines needed a rebuild at 70k.

My mate said there's at least another 20 cars in the garden but they are so deep in the undergrowth that you can't get near them including a Renault 12, a PA Cresta and a Austin Gypsy with a Harvey Frost crane on the back!

Such a shame.

I would love that blue Sunbeam.

Last taxed October 93

It'd be interesting to know the story behind these - thanks for sharing Trigger. Judging by the price of anything Sunbeam, I'd imagine parts from them would sell well if the site is cleared eventually. It's laughable that the crusty state of the Tagora makes it look like one of the oldest cars there, not the newest!

That's a fabulous find, I love it that places like this still exist and one day I might stumble across one.

The Tagora looks much more rotten than many of the hunters.

+1 on the back story.

Are Practical Classics still doing rust in peace?!

I seem to recall some of this being in there before....especially now that Gipsy with the crane has been mentioned.....

Suitable as location for post-apocalypse film makers!

Fantastic pics Trigsbury, what a place. If I found that nowadays I would literally blatter myself in excitement. I'd be going round everyday looking at it again and again.

Nowadays seeing stuff like this on the internet is tinged with a bit of sadness as you just expect some shitehawk to track it down and go round shortly afterwards, nicking anything of value before popping the windows on everything else, I hope it stays lost for a bit longer.

I was waiting with baited breath for the Chrysler 180, luckily there doesn't seem to be one. If anyone knows the owner of this lot, tell him to get in touch with me and I will buy him a pint or whatever.

Wow what a haul. Much like. Unfortunately the storage conditions are less than ideal... greenery and cars do not mix well. If there are any parts worth having they would be useful, even down to the nuts and bolts.

Lovelystuff.

Pretty sure Cavcraft has taxed worse. Especially when you think back to that red MG from last year (!)

Great pics too. 11/10.
