Has anybody else been watching this over on the Travel channel with Paddy Mcguinness?. It's pretty good i think and features some fairly mediocre cars, it's currently got Goldie cruising about in a rusty Toyota Corolla!

have to cringe a bit assuming some poor owner lent them his car on the basis of "its been on tv" and these stars driving em rough as hell , slammed mk2 escort roared over a speed hump etc

Same here, clutch slipping and grounding out over speed bumps as well as carrying on driving after the ball joint snaps on a Deloreon, I'm not sure I'd lend my car to some of them!

How weird!!  I spotted that Corolla in Southend a couple of years ago.  I thought the car and registration looked familiar.

Doesn't Ricky Tomlinson drive a clapped out Astra?

Vitara.

no because mcguinness is an utter $%&"

I'd like to watch it but see above - can't stand the talentless jackoff.

Personally i like him and he comes across as a pretty sound guy in my opinion on the show.

Was that a Fiat 125 or a Polski-Fiat 125P that Alexei Sayle was driving? I wasn't paying enough attention. HML says Polskis went extinct around 2000.

The most amazing thing I've gleaned from that programme is how sensible a driver Sean Ryder is.

It's obviously had virtually zero budget, but not bad if you accept it for what it is.

Also, has anyone else noticed that the plaque on the trophies Paddy gives to the celebs at the end is blurred out for some reason? I wonder if there was a last-minute title change or something, and the plaques were made up with the original one on them?

Who is Paddy McGuinness?

EDIT (4/11): Just figured out he is the Paddy of "Max & Paddy's Road To Nowhere" fame. Not having owned a TV for 12 years means that I am somewhat out of touch with modern pop culture...

Who is Paddy McGuinness?

some fella desperatley trying to hide his big ol bald spot

He should stick to flogging Greggs pasties

I've watched all these so far and have enjoyed them, even the one with John Prescott! The one with Goldie round the West Midlands in the Corolla was really funny and interesting getting to hear about where he started out from etc.

I like Paddy McGuinness. Don't understand why people are slagging him off for. Least he isn't going round smashing up 'bangers' as they like to call older cars because it's classed as entertainment like Clarkson and that d*ck Hammond did / do.

But then there real car enthusiast's aren't they?

Paddy McGuinness didn't he do a dirty protest in H wing back in the day?

Paddy McGuinness is coming...Paddy McGuinness is coming to the Corn Exchange...in the market town..in the countryside...at Christmas...with his joke.

I don't understand all the hate on here either, it's seems fashionable to slag everyone off all the time on this forum these days.

Who is Paddy McGuinness?

He's managed an Irish bloke named after a dog treat, and his band since 1978. Some bald patch, mind.

Edit, he also works opposite Paul Merton on a popular* news entertainment programme.

I'm another one confused by the hate. He was ace on Phoenix Nights.

I think he's brilliant, especially in take me out and Phoenix Nights. The stars in their cars leaves a lot to be desired...
