I'll be there all three days, though with quite a to do list. I'll be hiding on the 2CVGB stand when I can.

I'll be there on the 924 Owners Club stand all day Saturday. We're in the posh hall with the proper Porsches, what with it being the 40th anniversary launch birthday thingy this year we're punching above our weight and hobnobbing with the big boys.

 

If anyone's about on the saturday do come along and say hi.

This will be the 6th time going for me, 4th time in a row and plan to keep doing it...it's became a bit of a pilgrimage for me now.

 

I really should get the accommodation sorted sorted for the Friday/Saturday now that i think of it. Also give the LS a quick once over before going.

Will be on the Young Guns Classics stand in the Youngtimer area which I think is Hall 1 this year, so as far as we can get from the Wheeler Dealers stage, which we were sited next to last year. Small mercies!

 

The really knackered Austin 1100 with one headlight, crap paint, no rear arches and uneven suspension is mine. Can't decide if I'm bringing it in that state through pure laziness, to shame myself into sorting it, or because that's what they all looked like in the 70s...

I had a go at starting up the 604 to take it tomorrow.

1. Flat battery, needed jumping off of SWMBOs Freelander.

2. Only running on five cylinders.

3. Won't idle.

4. Lost drive on a bend, ATF low.

 

Wierdly after stopping outside the house for few minutes to chuck a litre of ATF in it, suddenly it runs on all six and idles much better.

 

I think I will get over to Halfords and buy some ATF.  If it get there and back then maybe it will make Birmingham and back. Maybe.

It was also responsible for the re-ignition of my obsessive brochure collecting habit.

Had a great day out there today but by'eck it was busy. Used to be quieter on the Friday but was chocca.

 

There were the usual suspects there (in terms of cars) and as usual the usual happy mix of friendly people to chat to, lager and promotion girls in Lycra. Who could ask for more?

I was there today, good to see Richard on the 924 stand.

 

A bright orange Rancho on the Matra stand was so orange it made an orange look like a lemon.  It also had no rust so of no relevance to people on here.  Picture nicked from Trigger's thread

 

Also good to meet Dollywobbler who was definitely not convincing some bloke about electric cars.  Was it just because James May did the bit on Top Gear that everyone believes hydrogen is so wonderful?
