On a serious note it looks very solid in the provided pictures.

Surprising what people consider scrap these days.

.... "I don't want to see it when I get back" = please take it away...NOW...

Just want it gonned.....

It isn't, you know, Chompy....  33 years ago my dad made friends with a family of travellin' folk who came knocking for scrap, and the upshot was that we had several remarkably good cars out of them over the next 5 years or so, including two excellent Ladas.  So even then people were throwing away perfectly viable cars.

And yes, that Volvo does look way too good to scrap.

At 33p a ticket I would imagine it would...

I'll take 1-59 or what ever it goes up to!

regardless of cost it's nice to see it saved from being crushed.

Hmm.... ovalchat-mode /ON

Mine would have been biscuit tinned in1, meeting that!

We have both done well M8 :)

No doubt said daughter drives something modern on at least £250 p/m finance deal cos new and better innit.

Honestly, why scrap an honest old thing like that?

Same fate almost met my Dolly 1300 in 2008, the first owner went into a home having owned the car for 30 years and the family were going to weigh it in. He managed to sell the car to somebody but as far as I can tell everything that wasn't in the car was lost, so no history pre-2008 sadly.

Still I don't think that was as bargin-tastic as a £20 Ovlov...

This is brilliant!

I'm struggling though, given the purchase price and how much it's had spent on it and the fact it just pissed it's mot, wtf are people thinking by throwing things like this away!?

Top job saving it though, they are brilliant cars.

1993 L registration was about the time that Volvo stopped registering cars in Ipswich, Suffolk and started registering them in Oxfordshire.  I recall us getting a load of Oxford registered Volvos on the Europcar rental fleet at the time with alot of them having the UD area identifier, has this car got some history with Volvo?

seems to have come from  volvo/proton malvern worcestershire wr14,than the chorley dealership with it 1 owner, who seems to have  worked with norweb..
