Bit of a crap dashcam grab but that's NOT 1N

HOP 1N used to be around Brentwood somewhere, as well as SPL 1F on a Volvo estate that one of the market traders had - wonder if he got pulled over often?

It's weird how things change.

When I first started seeing Volvo's with V70xxx plates, Clios with CL10, Saab with S44 Bxx and stuff I used to think it really tacky.

Now they seem to suggest a certain level of obsessiveness that would guarantee a decent secondhand buy. I reckon a Volvo V70 with a V70 plate would have been looked after better than one without.

The Acclaim and Duster are just another works though, they're great. Can't be often the world aligns like that.

Am I doing it wrong, then?

I've never owned an M5 , but did have a company called CTU a few years ago. I might* have had M5 and R5 with doctored/ dodgy typeface to look like MS and RS.

I've had it on various Jags,Mercs and the Volvo, but whenever I have a 5 Series, even I'm too embarrassed to put it on. Left R5 on an Espace that shat itself years ago- lost forever.

Haha, yeah it always makes me chuckle to see an M5 plate on a 330d or an X5 plate on an X1 etc.

"I'll buy the plate first and then save up"....

So far as matching the plate with the vehicle carrying it, I currently have A4*** on a rather smart German saloon.

It's a BMW.

A9RCE, G1ACU and G10SAT on my stuff.

Doesn't mean anything, but hey ho.

A D06 VET the other day on an A4 estate.

No idea if actually driven by a dog vet.

Someone who lived on Cheyne Walk in Chelsea - I think it might have been Sir Peter Hall, founder of the Royal Shakespeare Company - used to have an R129 SL and a Range Rover with 2BE and NOT2B, which used to make me smile as being a very expensive pun.

VEE 8 on a 17 plate merc c220 diesel! what a waste needs to go back on a car with the correct number of cylinders!

Someone near me has UXW1 and UWX1 as a his & hers pair, one is on an X-type, and the other a white Fiesta - the woman has a habit of buying white Fords, she had a mk6 Escort estate before the modern-ish Fiesta.

I have to wonder how much effort they went to to get those two plates.

My, their taste in cars has gone downhill. Won’t be Peter Hall then, I think his car buying days were past before some of those pics were taken.

Saw SUP3R the other day on a white Rangey Evoque (I think), didn't get a snap though. That would've been super.

Our MP, Lesley Laird has a white Rangey with LA16RDS on it, which tells you everything. And I don't imagine me putting this on a publicly accessible forum is much of a security risk to the Shadow Scottish Secretary, as she's quite happy to YPLAC it in Tescos...

Spotted B16WER on a Renaultsport Megane earlier, but it'd been printed as 'BL6WER' with an actual L in place of the 1 front and back.

HTF hadn't that been pulled? Very very illegal.

It's not Peter Hall, it's Sally Greene and husband Robert Bourne.

At least Ian is eating well.  Around here, TD5 material is in the KFC queue.  Waiting.

There's a fiesta around here that's something like S20 LAN (I forget what the numbers are) but they've used a fucking lower case L so it spells Ian.

I spent ages seeing it and wondering "but that's not right.... you can't have an I there".
