sierraman Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I was watching Bergerac a few years ago and in one episode he drove a Merc 190e cabrio. Never seen one, can't be an official job.
Junkman Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 They were made by a company called AKH and benefitted from full Mercedes warranty. RayMK, mercrocker, chaseracer and 7 others 10
flat4alfa Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I was watching Bergerac SOUL and Dick Cheeseburger 2
Bear Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 OMG, I learned of a new thing. AND I WANT IT. They were made by a company called AKH and benefitted from full Mercedes warranty. dugong 1
sierraman Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 He was one cool fucker John Nettes in that series. He'd have been an Autoshiter. dugong 1
Felly Magic Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Nah his Triumph was just too pristine in Burgermac. He should have had a rusty Peugeot 504 estate that was an ex taxi to be a Jerseyshiter mercrocker 1
captain_70s Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Mmmmmmm, so stylish... This screams "un-compromised structural rigidity". egg, Skizzer and mercrocker 3
Felly Magic Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 That blue lidless Dolly looks to have mahoosively thick sills
SOUL Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Nah his Triumph was just too pristine in Burgermac. He should have had a rusty Peugeot 504 estate that was an ex taxi to be a Jerseyshiter I met him in Jersey a couple of years ago, nice guy. Bergerac episodes are so loaded with Autoshite especially when the episode heads in to France, CXs DSs, and yes 504 Diesels!
Dick Cheeseburger Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Apparently Bieber built it. Could have guessed...
SOUL Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 This was a Peugeot concept car, but they screwed up not making it. egg, RayMK and Sheefag 3
Dick Cheeseburger Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 This was sat on ebay for an age, couple of years back. Bear 1
chaseracer Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Continuing the Double Chevron theme... SM Espace Oltcit (not Visa...) XM. Factory, innit? I mean, can you see the join? Errrmm... Tamworthbay 1
Sigmund Fraud Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 This was a Peugeot concept car, but they screwed up not making it. If they had made a 505 cabrio, we would have all missed out on the beautifully* facelifted, rubber-bumper 504 cabrio : Bear 1
djimbob Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I am a wrong 'un and I would certainly enjoy just about all the motors on this thread, it is totally ace I have form for shite soft tops, sometimes homebrew, such as a Reliant Kitten, a canary yellow Mini with full bodykit, and others back in the mists of time before digital photography, maybe my cousin Strange Angel has proof of these monstrosities somewhere Not had any for a few years, but there is always time, a Saab perhaps at the right price may well persuade me
sheffcortinacentre Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 That silver mk5 crayford is number 8 of 28 & the one before mine. The mk1 escort on previous page will be homemade as no mk1 or mk2 were done to my knowledge.
Dick Cheeseburger Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 That Viva is FWD...Yup, and Ford engined iirc. Bastards.
sheffcortinacentre Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 The hb viva was on a mk2 astra floorpan and the victor was on a mk2 can one both by same builder I believe.
quicksilver Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 No mention of this delightful* thing yet? Factory-built and allegedly much better in a crash than the hardtop thanks to all the strengthening they had to add. It does look like a pram though.1996 Rover 114 Cabriolet by Adam Floyd, on Flickr
gm Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Is there a difference between a convertible and a cabriolet ?
quicksilver Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Is there a difference between a convertible and a cabriolet ?Supposedly there is but I can never remember what it is. I think it might be to do with whether or not the window frames are fixed.
Eddie Honda Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Is there a difference between a convertible and a cabriolet ? It's like the the difference between a kiosk or a booth... Vic: "He's just frozen them with his special eyeballs so now we've got to get them into that booth." Bob: "That's not a booth, that's a kiosk." Vic: "No it's not, there's no shelving in it." Bob: "No, a kiosk has a counter. Shelving, you're thinking of a pantry." Vic: "So what's a kiosk without shelving or a counter?" Bob: "That's a booth." Vic: "Exactly." gm 1
The Moog Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Isn't it that one is designed as a soft top from the start and the other is a hard top modified.
