dollywobbler Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I haven't managed to leave Wales yet, but have talked myself into camping, so glad to hear there are pitches available. I'll be departing soon, ETA half six-ish. Don't have dinner without me! No idea what brekkie plans will consist of. Right. I'd better get off here and pack then...
sporty-shite Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Any sniff of a ticket for FATHA_SPORTY?
Richard Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 If he's not showing a car he can go as a passenger.
sporty-shite Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 If he's not showing a car he can go as a passenger.I know, but he fancied bringing his Prelude.
cms206 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Anyone achieved Shady Oak yet? For some reason I'm nervous about this. Probably because they have my phone number and credit card details. BEHAVE PLS.Scotland appear to be the first. If we are in the right place. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk worldofceri 1

davidfowler2000 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 We are pitches 13-24 at the campsite and we have checked in.
HillmanImp Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 No idea what brekkie plans will consist of. Hopefully not breathalyzers.....
worldofceri Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 Any sniff of a ticket for FATHA_SPORTY? Sorry, no. I know The Moog and HillmanImp have tickets but aren't going. Don't know about the logistics of getting the tickets from them at this late stage. TM is Accrington and HI near Shipley. From the organisers' website: If you haven't booked your place in the show but would like to attend, we'd be delighted to accommodate you in the overflow classic car area, this is a space set aside purely for classic vehicles, but unfortunately you will not be able to take part in the concours. If you would like to do this, since it is now so close to the show, simply pay the full admission price on the day. 'Full admission' is nine quid. M'coli 1

Dippy Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 I not camping, it's only an hours drive for me so will set off in the morning. Does anybody have an idea where in the show we will be or should I just drive round looking for a group of cars not as shiny as the rest.
Richard Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 They'll ask who you're with (HBF I think) and tell you where to go. brownnova 1
worldofceri Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 They rang me the other day to check the name of the club. "Could I just confirm the name of your club, Mr Higgins?""Of course, it's the HBF Club.""Sorry, I didn't quite catch that.""HBF Club.""Right."short silence"OK... Thanks."Drrrrr... Somehow gave me the impression we may be 'marked'. In my experience the giffers on the gate don't know where to direct you anyway, so just drive around looking for the most shambolic group. Usually features at least one Volvo flying the Saltire. I thought the area we had last year was quite good. Over to the far right corner from the entrance.
brownnova Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 HGF club? Depends on the number of K series which turned up... Looking forward to tomorrow and actually getting to meet some of you! chaseracer, anonymous user, HillmanImp and 1 other 4
eddyramrod Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Just look for a brown Cadillac flying Old Glory from the rear quarters
Skizzer Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Sadly I think I'm going to be another no-show as I don't have an old car that's well enough to do the journey, which has also made me grumpy. Particularly fucked off that my Jag ignition part hasn't turned up after a week of waiting, in spite of being advertised as in stock: Amazon car parts = shit. Think I'm going to stay home and dismantle a Talbot instead. Please post pics and tell good stories.
For Fiats Sake Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Ah Fuckaduck, despite getting the ticket in the post and the hot wheels sticker I completely forgot about this. Usually I could have blagged some time of work but did that on wednesday and they've got me working 10 days straight since. On the plus front I have misplaced ticket so it can't be of use to anyone.I am a completely useless cunt some most of the time. Hope you all have a splendido time.

Probably nearer 9.30 than 9.00. eddyramrod 1
M'coli Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 New name for next year?Fuck no - what's the point of being notorious otherwise? It's always been HBF, and if they don't like it, they like our money, so fuck em. Dippy, sporty-shite, Cleon-Fonte and 2 others 5
Dippy Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Sorry but don't get what HBF is although I do find HGF quite appropriate. trigger 1
Six-cylinder Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I planned a 7am departure but I am too excited and woke up a couple of times in the night, is it time yet! The last lime was only half an hour before the alarm and I was wide awake.I am now ready to leave now so here I come, I reckon 3 hours. The peace of the M40, M42, M6, M54 and A41 will be shattered by the roar of my 60 bhp diesel! worldofceri, eddyramrod, mat_the_cat and 1 other 4
worldofceri Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 Sorry but don't get what HBF is although I do find HGF quite appropriate. It stands for Hinari Bumface Fandango, which is/was erstwhile organiser Cavcraft's handle on Retro Rides. Pillock, Ghosty, Twiggy and 2 others 5
Ghosty Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Junkman has arrived at chez Ghosty - onwards to breakfast. M'coli 1
dollywobbler Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 We campers are mostly not doing breakfast due to it being in the wrong direction. I'm sure there are top quality* foods available at the show.
cms206 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 All is not well at The Shady Oak. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk johngarty and Junkman 2
