2000 Nissan Kebab wagon Micra 1.0 16v misery spec £375

Ive been tasked with shifting this motor for SWMBO's aunty. Its a good all round car, body work is a bit tired down the passanger side but the rest seams ok.

12months MOT. New CV boot, slight welding, and a wax oil after test.

Plenty of service history

62k

Power steering (not that it needs it)

sunroof for slow escape

CD player

Recent full new exhaust

Recent New headlights

Manual Power windows

Manual Power locks

Fully miserable metallic paint with added gloom

1.0 16v engine seams nippy but lacks impressiveness if you like your larger engines.

2 keys, because I know you'll want to leave one in a bowl.

Its a cheep to run, cheep to use turn key and go car, ready to use. I am fully out of brown paper bags to supply with this Micra, so you'll have to buy your own. Roof size perfect for dominos magnetic sign.

£SOLD

Cant beat a K11 micra, great cars.

Hmm, they are until one starts to take of them, it seems.

My brother had one in flat red (the best colour) and used to run around in it with tyres at 10psi and covered in crap.

So he pumped up the tyres and cleaned the car.

It started to break down...

Me and my step dad made my mum get rid of hers about 7 years ago as it was fucked... It's still been driven around the city.

We had one in "the family" for 140kand was still mechanically bob on when we sold it. Surprisingly good fun driving it flat out everywhere, peppy engine and decent handling in a role poly kinda way.

These cars are GR8.

Ma_Sterling would fit into that category then, she is still plodding around in her 1998 Micra.

Twin tone horns eh? Any chance of a wee recording of how they sound? I'm looking for a cheap swap for the pansy, limp-wristed beep beep that the Swift has.

Posted

I can only imagine they sound as good as they look. Friday BUMP.

New Nissan horns are truly SHITE.

Genuinely one of the best cars I have ever driven these Micras. Its a shame the styling and giffer/delivery boy image is so far removed from the driveing experience (he says owning a Citroën Visa...)

What are they like quality wise? I looked at one once and it was seriously grim but I don't know if that one was just clapped out. Shame that as it was high spec in a decent colour (if the paint and body work weren't shit).

Mrs T had a 1.3 16v one many years back, it was just a bloody good car, it went like stink too. I really rate them.

you're exactly right. Everything works and it drives spot on. it doesnt rattle or bang and the quality seams to be better compared to other cars of similar age. Its a car that can be used and abused and will take it on the chin.

Going to have a price drop. £375. Got to be worth that with a 12 month MOT? Bargain motoring!

Love this. Spent a year in one of my mates when I was 17. Metallic Brown FTW

These are good. They do like to rot though, especially the front crossmember. The engines will soldier on forever while the arse falls out.

My folks have a Y reg one. It's needed welding every year for the last four years, but never misses a beat

Im suprised ive still got it to be honest. People are always asking me for cheap small cars but I cant seem to sell this one...

Old Jap motors have great horns in general I think. The Civic has a twin-tone which is by far the most commanding horn in the works car park.

I wanted a K11 for ages, but they are getting thin on the ground up here and most are of the age where rust becomes a big deal. At £400 though you can't really go wrong, my Civic was £2.5k and is well on it's way to costing that much to keep it going for a year. A mate at college had a K11 for ages and it just went and went and went on no budget, I remember him putting in £5 of petrol at a time because he was so broke!

Sorry to buck the trend but the one we had I hated. Yes it was reliable and was miserly on fuel, other than that it was a foul little device, rotted like fuck, embarrassing to be seen in. I was overjoyed when someone relieved us of £300 to get rid of it. My dislike of them has subsided since 2011 when I wanted to smash the shit out of every one I saw.
