Does anyone recognise these wheels? They look familiar but can't quite put my finger on it ?

Look like Rover alloys, if not very similar. Look like ones on Metro GTa and 214 & 414.

I've a couple of sets, from memory on my 80s Renners. Fuego & 18 I think, but bring 4x100pcd, they will fit a wide variety.

I think the originals are BBS, but mine are Renault made copies- and I think there are a few, very similar styles eith other manufacturers.

There is a set of metro GTA alloys for sale on line. The centre is plain rather than the crossed line pattern that this one has so not a Rover one. Similar but not right. I haz got it wrong.

Does look BBS or BBS lookalike as Nigel and Merc said.

Infuriatingly familiar, I'm almost certain they're late 1980's early 1990's Vauxhall. I'm sure I've seen Mk2 Astras, some Novas and even Mk2 Cavaliers wearing them.

They look like Mark 2 Cavalier CD alloys to me.

Close but no cigar, Billy... the Mk 2 Cav alloys look like this:

Notice how the tips of the "diamonds" are extended where they meet the rim? Not on the mystery wheels though.

They look like Oscams or MWS jobbies.

The run out Reliant SSTs between SST and Sabre used them.

Compomotive CX.

Compomotive CX 4-studs have a different centre pattern, Cameron...

Almost, but not quite... again, the tips of the 'diamonds' are wrong where they meet the rim.

At first I thought, the apparently hand built 1600E Onionpost-17414-0-81328300-1462356774_thumb.jpeg

But then read Mr Bickle's post and these do indeed look pretty close.

I can't help thinking that the wheel in the original post looks like it should have a big centre cap covering the nuts.

MSW (made by OZ racing) Type 2 basketweaves.

Aftermarket, usually 4x100 VW fitment, but also available for BMW and others. Sold in the mid 80s-90s.

I'm still not convinced they're MWS Type 2s.

With the mystery wheel, the two long sides of the diamonds seem to run a bit tighter together at the rim than with the MSW wheels (see below) and the basket pattern seems to be generally shallower. It's a bloody close match though, just not perfect. Unless it's got something to do with wheel diameter, I couldn't find a pic of any 13" wheels, which I assume the mystery wheel is.

TVR 280, tasmin wheels very similar especially the centre BUT I see they have 5 not 4 holes for studs so not right.

Hey, 109landys3, good to see you still around, do you still have the Princesses?

They look like the sort that used to be found on many a Mk2 VW Golf? Esp. With that centre pattern...

And somewhere on them they will say ET 49

Look like the standard BBS RA's I had on my 1990 Mk2 Golf GTi.

They did MSW basketweaves in a variety of fitments and sizes, so I reckon it's just to do with the et and the rim size.

MSW basketweave:

Very similar to BBS Mahles, but they only have 4 solid metal diamonds on the middle ring per side to the MSW 5s:

Also very similar to Melber Euro Weaves, but they have 3 triangley bits to each square inner edge, and the OP is two like the MSWs.

BBS RA for comparison. I have a set of these needing refurb to go on the Scirocco:
