PM explosive-cabbage for parts. He's posting loads out at the moment, having a clear-out.

He did have some 309 mirrors (not the same as 205 ones, despite the doors being the same). I'm unsure of his current stock. Many other bits available.

Any sign of the coolant leak mentioned at the last MOT?

Not at all. It's been fine. Not lost a drop. I think the thermostat wants doing though.

Coventry, I seem to recall.

Along with the cambelt maybe ?

Yeah. And a few other things.

Best to get it done.

Shafts.

Rocker cover gasket.

Cam belt.

Water pump.

Thermostat.

Nice little list to be getting on with.

More fun than getting a brand new Kia on credit.

Well yeah, but so's a terminal illness.

Top collekshum reportage. I've never had the excitement of owning a car with a clock on the dashboard instead of a rev counter. Well jel', am I.

I wimped out of bidding on this last minute, now I'm disappointed. Good buy!

Aye, originally designed to be a Talbot Horizon replacement called Arizona, but Peugeot decided to SCRAP Talbot. Named out of order because it wasn't really meant to be a Peugeot. I think the styling fits in well with the 205 and 405 considering. They even had some SIMCA engines in until the facelift.

always kinda liked the 309, and as they have all but disappeared from the road now i think that they are looking better with age.

well collectioned, that has the solid looking basis to be proper AS gold.

and i've not seen one of these running wild and free in YEARS!

Hi, just wondering if the previous owner from new was a company car lease manager?

I bought it from a blokes son, who bought it off his dad.  Before that, unknown.

Are the mirrors the same as 405 ones? I have a 405 mirror but it's electric. Useful*.

Nein.  The 309, 205 and 405 ones all look similar, but they are in fact, slightly different.  As are the drive shafts.

It's that brilliant PSA skill of having parts that look virtually identical but turn out to be completley didferent from each other.

309 looks good, your company is clearly investing in the future of the past.

Oddly they look just like a BX mirror...

I believe the mirror head bit is the same on 309's and BX's (and maybe 405's).  The mounting base bit is different. I once built one up for a 309 using the surviving base and the head part from a BX.

205 mirrors will fit straight on, but the head part is a bit smaller.

I'll have it for £150 next week when I inevitable break the 406 again.

Are you not wanting to wait till I do the cam belt and gasket and stuff, then come in with a lower offer?

I don't think you're doing Autoshite correct.

Had a run down to Crook today to see a friend.  Came away with some goodies (not Bill Oddie content).

Got some newer, betterer front seats.

Replacement front grille badge.

Its such a little change, but it makes a big difference aesthetically.
