New shite that isnt as shite as it might have been....

The other day i received an email for a chap in Norway asking if i would be interested in some cars.... In my line of work this is normal. The only info was some reg numbers. No pics, no models..no mileages. The chap was selling on behalf of his brother in law...i decided i would go amd see what they were. Doing mot checks on the numbers didnt really tell me much other than they had been off the road a long time , this made them as shitters will understand, more interesting.

I arranged with the neighbour of the brother in law of the owner to go and see what was what. To say i couldnt believe what i saw is an understatement. I am going to keep them all as the previous owner obviously had great taste and due to no fault of his own can no longer enjoy them , so proffiting from them without first getting them road worthy and enjoying them a bit seems wrong.

All cars were without v5, and of unknown quality. It turns out that depsite them sitting for years and years they are all at least running well and managed to drive me home the 40 odd miles. The red one actually used to be mine 10 years ago and i had about 5 yrs ago stoppped the chap at a petrol station requesting he let me know if he wants to sell..... So handing out my details to random folk appears to have paid off. Anyhow, the pics as i saw and bought them, followed by after getting them home and giving them a wash. Enjoy.

Cor! The TWR and drophead really shouldn't work, but really does. Can't be doing pearl white on anything, but the Quattro looks a proper unabused factory fresh car.

TWR looks better now i have removed the spoiler and lobbed some grommets in the holes. As ever pics are flattering. The white one has had a "not great" paint job at some point. And both jags are ....well, a wee bit frilly..mot time with all of them will tell me a better picture.

Ooft. Well Jell. Have had a ur quattro, not had an XJS yet though. Would be interested in the coupe when it's up for sale, depending on rustiness...

I like the later facelift coupes most of all other than the mega early ones . I like the wheels on it too.

Those ur Audis are firmly above my pay grade these days.:(

Crikey, well done!

You know you've had too many cars when you get a cold email from another country about a car 40 miles away and it turns out you've already owned it. Verdict: Shite hero.

And mine.... right time right place, right bid... im not thinking about its "worth", I intend to enjoy it.  I doubt I would ever own any of them at "worth" these days...who the hell pays what folk ask for the old Audis?  I guess there is asking and getting, and they don't seem to sell...... once the "gene Cunt" thing wears off they will maybe slide back to nearer shite money.... if not totally

Top bombing Kinkersaab - Jaaaags are cracking :)

I passed on one of those ur quattro's for shite money 15 years ago, as I wanted an even shiter car (Integrale) - Ended up buying neither, and got an Impreza STi.

Drop me a line if you get bored of this one - I still fancy scratching the itch, if I happen to have the cash spare when the time comes.

The red XJS has a brilliantly appropriate number plate given its probable thirst.

Nothing to add to the above really... just... envious!

You're right about not profiteering, and as such I'm happy to help by purchasing the metallic red XJ-S off you for £200.

That's the first XJS soft top I've seen that I like. The Speedlines and TWR kit suit it perfectly, so much nicer than the default red or green with crosspokes.
