Richard Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 New tent purchased. I hope it's better than the last new tent I bought, which went in the camp site's skip after one night. Weekender 2: The Quickening.
Bucketeer Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I don't think badges have ever been needed previously. If you're close enough to someone to read a name badge then you're close enough to use actual words and introduce yourself. skattrd, Richard, chaseracer and 2 others 5

Six-cylinder Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 It is all very confusing to me, the only way I remember who is who is by their cars, I never forget a car. Then you all go and swap cars! Sloth in a bowl, skattrd, KruJoe and 2 others 5

Then you all go and swap cars!Glad I'm not the only one who recognises people by their cars. I fear matching the correct combination of car, username and real name will be beyond me so maybe I should just call everyone Bob or something. explosive-cabbage 1

People are friendly and those that know people point out who is who for those that don't. True, but some of us are socially inept/awkward and find it quite stressful. I'll be the worried, grumpy looking, slightly overweight, bearded, bald one. (That should narrow it down a bit.)
bub2006 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I'm grumpy, balding and semi beared as well as chunky shall we say. I'll be doing my best pikey impression sat outside a caravan drinking budweiser
purplebargeken Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Fuck. Are we all clones or something? This could be the UK convention of overweight, balding beardy bastards with shonky cars. Excellent, a spiritual home at last!
Tamworthbay Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Not balding but very short hair, no beard, did it once but too itchy. Guilty on the shonky car though.
quicksilver Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Balding and beardy here too, not overweight though but quite the opposite. I'll be the tall skinny balding beardy one then,

I have a bunch of blank sticky labels i can bring down and a sharpie.... purplebargeken 1
rantingYoof Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I'll almost certainly be arriving mid-day on Saturday in SnrYoof's big, black, snorting and juddering diesel Signum, which is an 05 plate but doing its best to become chod. The idea of hilariously buying a £100 shiter to turn up in is quickly becoming an unachievable pipe-dream...
KruJoe Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 remember who is who is by their cars, I never forget a car. This... when I organised SF'13 I asked for folks to post what car they'd come in next to their name on the attendance list, it really helped!

For Fiats Sake Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 This... when I organised SF'13 I asked for folks to post what car they'd come in next to their name on the attendance list, it really helped! Forum names or real names? I don't want to pigeon hole myself as Maestro Fiat Guy With Dog. I'm not balding just very round through the middle. If I guessed most of us would or should be wearing glasses (for distance/reading) would I be right?
KruJoe Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 From memory it might have been thus: FORUM NAME --- FIRST NAME --- CAR Does anyone have a whiteboard? Or the side of Steve's newly built camper would work... we can make a chart! How exciting! CYANIDE STEVE 1
dollywobbler Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I'm far more hopeless at remembering faces than I thought I was, so forgive any blank expressions when you say hello. I'm generally like that.

anonymous user Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 From memory it might have been thus: FORUM NAME --- FIRST NAME --- CAR I'm not sure if my car has a first name. If the monsoon season stops before next weekend and I can arrange dog-sitting cover I hope to attend with my lovely* caravan. If not, I shall pop in on the Saturday. I hope everyone has remembered to write their car registration number on the back of their picnic chairs.
beko1987 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Shit I still need to borrow camping gear... Unless bubs cooking dinner in his van?
