The Happy Christmas Thread

As I am still in the same time zone it is now 7:30am on Christmas Day.

Such a beautiful summer we had the heat on last night because cold and wet. Now just cool and wet. Day started again with tea and cake before brekky and the eating is planned to get much worse. I was asked "what are you going to do about that bottle of Black Label " last night, I just grinned.

First person for me to wish Happy Christmas on the actual day :) Where are you in NZ, recently received a photo by email of my cousin and her family sunning themselves on Waiheke Island, surrounded by golden sands, turquoise sea, palm trees and an azure sky, lucky so and sos :)

Merry Christmas to one and all. You all really are a great bunch of people and I wish everyone the best to the future. I'm not feeling festive myself, too much bad luck this year. Be glad to close the door if I'm honest but I wont begrudge anyone a heartfelt best wishes. Thank you all for a great place here and to the people ive met through here too. Hope you all get what you want and be jolly.

Had a nice relaxed Christmas Day with me, Mrs_Jon and the cat and managed to test out our kayak, which was a joint present to each other:

And here's a qualz pic from a 10 year old digital camera just as the batteries died in it.

We only saw one two other people in the next 90 mins on the water and they were a couple of middle aged women on a kayak; obviously it's a path less travelled as the one paddling in front hastily put her bikini top back on as we met them round a corner!

Also, here's a Top Tip: if you are having all your wisdom teeth extracted, plan to do so before mid afternoon on 22nd December, as the puffy face and soft food diet is a bit of a bugger when negotiating a Christmas dinner. I still managed it though......

Here's an unexpected bonus Christmas spot to accompany my Seasons Greetings to you all. It's a brave person that takes their SM shopping in the middle of Scotland, at this well-salted time of year!

That kayaking malarkey looks ace. I'd probably cop out, and certainly wouldn't try one in a river, but in general it seems to me that bumbling along canals and quiet waterways is an ace way to relax.

We had a small boat but hardly used it, I must get another in 2016 and get out in it.

Even enjoy cycling along the canal towpaths, the peace and quiet is incredibly therapeutic.

My dog looks like she's swallowed a rugby ball with all the food consumed

I went to my parent's place after work. I opened my presents, I got a rather nice camera and some slippers.

I tested the camera by photographing a light blub, because art.

I ate some foods.

I watched three Carry On films in a row.

I later fell asleep in front of the Call The Midwife Christmas Special. I've now driven home and am already hungry... I'm a monster.

Ha, our mate who is having Christmas with us has succumbed to a bottle of rose, bottle of prusseco whatever the fuck that is and a bottle of champers. He's just taken a lie down on the grass to feel better, is now in my pyjamas as his got wet and is currently sat on the sofa saying he feels fine.

The urge to draw a cock on his face is very strong...

Just me, the cat and a copy of Fallout 4 today. Quiet and relaxing.

I think that's one of the best Christmases I've ever had. One meal, but more than enough! My wife is remarkable at this food lark. Good telly too and a beautiful day of just the two of us and the cat.

What a few days...flew to Dublin Christmas Eve morning to be with Ms_Chegg, spent the afternoon in a pub in the city centre followed by a snuggly evening on the sofa. Christmas Day with her family eating too much, drinking enough and enjoying the craic. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much.

Up early on Boxing Day to fly back to Heathrow, pick up the car and drive for Christmas 2.0 at my Mum's where I was joined by my girls and my brother. More food, more fun, more laughter followed by a late-night 2 hour drive home.

Today I'm only leaving the sofa for the kitchen or bathroom (or to retrieve the r/c Porsche 911 GT3 Santa brought me) :)
