My boss sent me this one, MK1 GTI

I’m amazed that’s still there. I photographed it around eight years ago, and it looks exactly the same now apart from being even mouldier. It’s down a cul de sac which probably limits the amount of door knockers...

Spotted this in a communal car park near me. I suspect any probing into what’s happening with it might result in aggro so I left it well alone.

There is also an X5 with similar sitting-on-arse suspension problems.

It's probably saveable, with a lot of work. This guy who dragged two out of fields did an amazing job on his.

It's on SORN and had a logbook issued in 2012 so may not have been left too long - and it's on hardstanding.

I'll see if it has a tax disc next time I'm passing.

It amazes me that up until not so long ago, there were three MK3 Cortinas around here just sitting on drives, another orange one that I never papped has disappeared, and this 2000E 1600 GXL sits on a main road - sure the guy used to have a Maxi too

That's the second driveway in Chelmsford it's sat on, I saw it on one of the tree named roads off Lucas Avenue about 2010,then again in its current location a couple of years ago. Nice picture of the GXL, it's really started to look rough in the last few years, the Maxi was next door (OMGsomethingR I think, Tara Green or its Maxi equivalent). There's also a Mk. 1 Granada GXL on a Broomfield driveway but it's hard to see.

@keef - I think the Maxi is now owned by Martin Chamberlain, OMG 520R.

Martin sold OMG some time ago. ;)

Thanks.

OMG is Jade green not Tara green, although Maxis did come in this colour.

1976 Austin Maxi

Tara green is darker as can be seen from my photo of my Mum's. ;)

I really like that color! My uncle used to have a nice Cortina back in the days. I'll come over next week help him install the exhaust and cold air intake kits on his current pick up truck project. I'll ask if he still got some photos of his Cortina.

What a massive shame someone's removed the original plates from that brown Cortina and replaced with incorrect pressed black 'n silvers. Nasty.

It would seem the Granny has gone, although it's on street view

I spied something last week when I was on my travels near me. My now newly unemployed self has plenty of time to kill coming up so may take a jaunt out tomorrow morning to find it. I cant remember for love nor money what it is, small cherry red A reg saloon potentially, near betley in staffordshire.

This classic car seen abandoned unlit on the A583 @ Kirkham which is a clearway. Enqs showed it had no owner. Car recovered. #T2TacOps. #HO75.

Just out of curiosity, did anyone ever hear what became of this Viva?

One has to fear the worst I suppose...

By forever, I can say that's it has been there for at least 40 years. I have always wondered how many people have offered to buy it since it's been there?

The Land Rover I noticed about a year ago as having not moved, but it could be longer than that. When I pass that way I am always looking at the car under the cat piss tarp to notice if the LR has moved .

Can you ID it/the car next to it?

I thought it could be a Riley perhaps, but never been that close to it. That's the best photo I have ever seen of it, ever.
