Apparently there's a shortage of quality threads, so let's see how this one pans out. In short, what was your fleet ten years ago? Doesn't have to be to the day.

I'll be joining in later, but need to dash for food having just started this thread. Sorry. This thread had better be full of win when I get back. FANKS.

Well, I have had my Minor and VW T25 for 10 years so that puts paid to that being of interest....Mrs Rocker's mount was a W124 260E back then before it shit itself.   Pretty sure we still had a CF Bedford lurking around then too.

very boring company car at the time.

nicknamed the bucket it was a mark 2 ford focus ghia, that had been thrashed since it was delivered, and had a lovely coating of moss growing around the windscreen and along the door window trippers.

it only ever got washed 2, maybe 3 times in the 3 and abit years, and 150-odd thousand miles i had it, and that was when it had been for a service and the state of it must have disgusted/shamed/given someone some illness at the mainstealer while it was there.

it was a good car, it was whipped though when it went back.

Ten years ago I had just done this to my Savanna.

I still miss that car. I'll try to find a picture of it not broken.

It was replaced with this

Xantia.jpg

Which was newer than the car I drive now.

It's an unfashionable view on here but I thought it was a better car than a 405. I bought it from a cartoonist who used to work on Judge Dredd and 2000AD.

You don't want to know, I don't want to remember but it was this 1.4 Golf:

post-17481-0-54355700-1447183373_thumb.jpg

Despite being the only new car I ever bought (and with cash) this is the only photo in 7 years and 100,000 very dull miles, which says it all really.

10 years ago my daily was my Fiat Brava. I'd had it a year by then. I do still own it, though it is Sorned and sat in a council lock-up.

I had my Panda 45CL too, which had been back on the road the previous summer. I also had the 126, the restoration of which I had just finished.

I also had the van, which I hadn't started work on at the time.

That was it. In ten years I appear to have added to the 'fleet' rather than depleted it... :-)

I'm not the only one looking at old photos and thinking "surely that's not 10 years ago!?!", am I?

Anyway, check out my fancy Benz!  I loved wafting about in that, though being a 2 litre auto it certainly wasn't fast.  Little chappy there was rushed to hospital one day when I was at work; I hammered it down the M3, infuriated it would barely do 120mph.

He's a huge, scruffy teenager now.  Benz long dead.

I had the Dyane, of course - it was definitely on the road at the time because the 2CV World Meeting in Kelso had happened a few months previously.

Daily was XM #2 (K871WPF/AAZ4871), which was moved on less than a year later to be replaced by the Blingo of much recent towage.  XM #1 (the original AAZ4871) was on the drive, being slowly broken.  Domestic Management was on her third Micra, a diesel K12, which was surprisingly OK.

I had my Capri,

These pics aren't from 2005 though, just the only pics I have of them on photobucket.

And I had a Transit 120 van.

We had my trusty 1.7 TD Cavalier and a boring Peugeot 206 for the missus who didn't like driving the Cavalier any more because 'it always went wrong'.   It was fine when I drove it, it just didn't like her.

Current W210 also doesn't like my wife it somehow refused to shift out of park for her recently, I just got in and started it normally.   Don't know how she does it.

No pics because I'm hopelessly disorganized and lazy.

I had two of those, the first a 1.7 petrol then a 2.1 diesel 7 seater

Fantastic cars but the rot got to mine, replaced with an Espace around ten years ago

Preferred the 21

Also had the Standard Pennant then too and a MK3 Capri and an Astramax van

I had to have a good search through the photos as I'd no idea off the top of my head.

Turns out 2005 was the year I acquired a lightly broken Accord which I spruced up a bit and made about £20 profit on twelve months later.

My old Renner 5 must have been on the road still at the time as it's in the corner of this pic.  And the Beetle would have been around somewhere as we've had it since 2001.
