Been promising to show off my fleet of shit so here it is :)post-19511-0-88353200-1430854474_thumb.jpgpost-19511-0-58201000-1430854566_thumb.jpgpost-19511-0-98560300-1430854710_thumb.jpgpost-19511-0-68666200-1430854791_thumb.jpgpost-19511-0-42990500-1430854857_thumb.jpg

The Standard isn`t as buried as it looks, I was driving it around in that mini heatwave we had the other week. But, its a flat surface......

The Acclaim can`t really be moved for a while as a bird had nested in the racking next to it. Don`t really want to disturb it too much. She is sitting on some eggs and doesn`t seem to mind me coming and going probably as I leave her some food as she appears to be a single mum. I fear moving the car may frighten her away though.

The Merc isn`t too far away, I just need to renew some hydraulic suspension pipes and it will drive away.

MGF was tinkered with over the bank holiday and should be MoT`d this week, not that I will be needing a convertable I`m sure...:)

The Niva, I`m not sure what to do with.I A- framed this back from Plymouth 3 years ago. Despite it`s tatty appearance it is solid and basically mechanically ok and it is pulling a trailer round the yard but it doesn`t run quite right ( early Lada injection ) and lack of use is starting to affect the clucch and brakes. Should sell it but I would only buy another

Love your taste in motors, mate. Some of my faves there! Excellent choices.

One day I will have a fleet just like that! Just need to find somewhere to keep them all...

Wasn't there someone on here who really wanted a Niva?

That's quite a combination of motors you got there, love it

Thankyou for your comments  :) I do seem to attract red estates these days....

Forgot the Mazda though. I`ve had it for a couple of years but left it at a mates place and kept forgetting I own it.

just getting it roadworthy again, fitted some leather seats I had bought ages ago and just sold the old ones on ebay. The owner of the company that makes Porsche Speedster replicas bought them as they fit MX5 seats in their cars :)

Nearly chucked them in the scrap pile but they made £56!

thanks, can`t do links as I am a Luddite but there is a diesel Tagora on Lebencoin that has my name on it to complete the collection.... 300 euros!!!!!!!!!!!!

I shall eat lots of cheese tonight and hope I dream about it

I've never felt the need to own a Niva before but I kind of want yours... Mercedes wagon too...

I`ve had loads of Nivas over the years but this is the most solid one I`ve had and being the later 1.7 model it has a proper tailgate you can actually get stuff in. But I`m crap with electrics and this one plays up sometimes. It has an awful mix of Lada carb but with GM electrics to make it into single point injection. Nowhere near as good as the simple old 1.6. I did want to do a diesel conversion on it but will never get time.

Incidentally, when I bought it and cleaned it up I found a brand new but out of date never been used condom in the glove box.... Kind of felt sorry for the previous owner

Out of date condoms make excellent weatherproofing for French dizzy caps.

That Standard is superb, really top notch stuff. Please set fire to the Escort van though.

Brilliant fleet! Don't burn the Eccy, turn it into a shite-ist version of the Nimbus camper and you would have a vehicle for every reason that exists to have a motor car.

I nearly did burn it when I put another battery on it that was too tall. It earthed out on the bonnet and caused plumes of smoke! It burned the earth cable out luckily. It didn`t come with a battery cover but it has one now! After this I towed it home and parked it up for a couple of weeks as I was busy. Fixed the cable and it still wouldn`t start. Three of the glow plugs had gone. Burnt out maybe?

I just use it for running around locally in as its so good on fuel, but my journey to work involves the largest hill in Shropshire ( I think ) and being a non turbo it`s really hard work.

Its not as tidy in real life, the photo flatters it

I drove a non-turbo escort diesel van once, the experience left me needing round-the-clock care for several months

Non turbo escort vans are hilariously slow. The gear you are in and throttle pressure have little or no effect on the rate of forward motion.

Do you work at the top of Long Mynd? Or is there a bigger hill I. Shropshire?

That's a breathtakingly Shite fleet.  Change nothing!

Brown Clee is the biggest. Do you spy on the rest of us from that radar station on the top ;)

Posted

Are you sure? Clee hill itself is in the background of the Merc/ Tercel shot but I always thought Brown Clee wasn`t as high. Not measured it though.

No idea if the Long Mynd is higher or not and I can`t be arsed to google it

Maybe I should drive the Tercel to the top of them all as it has an altimeter :)

Its a really interesting walk round Clee, I recommend it. There was some footage on Youtube of some local lads spinning around on the radar!!! They have removed that particular radar though.

it can be a pain in the arse living there though, the military like to practise their flying. See some very low planes which is interesting but when they are doing laps of the hill all morning it gets right on your tits

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just had a shower and whilst in there I remembered my other motors!!!  I`m only 37, what my memory will be like at 60 I dread to think.

These 3 are out of sight, out of mind I suppose. No photos at mo as they are not at my place:

1968 Renault 16 - I`ve had this for 3 or 4 years, it used to belong to Tim from Bristol who was on this site. He sold me this and kept a Renault  30  in  brown :)

It is currently in Spalding at a Renault 16 specialist called Mike as it had no brakes at all so I thought it easier to let him do it along with the head gasket. I could of fixed the brakes if there was anything to work from but they had been taken apart years ago. Must give him a ring, he said it would be a while between other projects but ought to check in occasionally...

I also own half a Wolseley 1500 with my father in law. Its a stalled project due to my welding / mechanic mate not doing much on cars anymore.

and finally, I own half a Wolseley 16/60 with the above mate. its fucked due to being picked up with an orange peel grab but my mate wants the engine and I want the front to make a BBQ or wall decoration or something. It was very cheap, it owes us £17.50 each :)  Bought it 15 years ago its been in his barn ever since....

I think thats it...

All killer, no filler there Tom.

I look forward to meeting some of it at Shitefest.

Posted

What was Tim from Bristol's user name? I remember someone on here getting royally bummed over some shenanigans with a renner 20 or 30.

Posted

Tim is Mouseflakes, still around, still slowly sorting his 30.

Posted

He moved up to the Lakes. Sound as a pound, only met him twice but can`t imagine him ripping anyone off!

Posted

Aye, top bloke. He came to Shitefest'13 Malhamdale in his Delicia. His long-term daily is a mingebag-tastic Saxo diesel.

the backend of the Wolsley 16/60, suitable chopped and boxed off, would make pretty awesome trailer/bbq.

just saying, like...
