The Senior Partner of a Firm I worked for in the early 2000s had one. Insisted I look after it and run it whilst he mitched off to Brazil for a couple of weeks. One of the more unpleasant cars I've ever had to drive - the velour upholstery was harbouring all sort of fleas / bugs from his pet dog, so my skin itched every time I drove it. Eventually couldn't stand it any longer, and paid to have the interior fumigated. Couldn't wait to hand it back.

I vaguely remember that Merc W123C being advertised on donedeal here about 10 months to a year ago as at the time My brother was sniffing about a blue one that was on there, being advertised by a car 'wheeler / dealer' near waterford  with all sorts of exotica like jags n Intergrale in the background... It was €800 the blue one, ex-UK and swelled with filler n rust, n blow'ins so I told him to walk away...

On the way home from collecting the felicia I stopped by a friends garage and ended up buying an e30 too...

I had seen it months ago but had assumed that it belonged to the garage next door, I was actually there looking at a silver c class Mercedes he had mentioned wanting rid of for a couple of hundred, it looked average and not particularly interesting so I asked what the story with the e30 was, it was a customers car which had failed an mot and she wanted rid of it for £300.

I thought it was worth taking it on at that price so bought it and will be getting it transported tomorrow.

15" bbs alloys with centre caps, black comfort leather interior and wooden steering wheel!!! A steal at £300!

I put a battery on it and it fired right up, runs a bit lumpy but seems to go quite well up and down the road. I'm not sure whether to look for a 2.5 engine or stick with the 1.8.

I had an E30 318i ten years ago when they were banger money (£225) and it was so, so much better than I expected. I'd have another in a heartbeat but most of the survivors are how fucking much? I'd have been on that like a dog on a leg if that had been anywhere near me

I had a 325i saloon for a short period and couldnt go anywhere without someone wanting to buy the bbs rims off me.

 

Made me very paranoid, a situation not helped by someone pinching it.

Snap - This one is mine, bought it to replace the Mondeo 3 years ago, I was going to use it as an everyday car but decided it was too nice for that so I carried on using the Mondeo and the BMW sparingly, I think I have done about 2K miles in it in 3 years

I have had a 325i SE 4 door 5 speed manual for over 7 years It is a delight to drive offering a back to basics experience with no nanny control electronics.

 

For me 325i conversion would be worth it.

I actually quite like it, it's the first proper shed I've bought in a while that I just don't give a shit about and have enjoyed ragging fuck out of it. It seems quite quick around town but on the motorway it can barely do 80mph down a hill. I've driven back and forth from Dunfermline to Glasgow a couple of times, got stuck in heavy traffic a couple of times and the car stayed at temp with no sign of overheating.

The front top mounts rattle but I do have a pair of new ones to fit at some point.

Can't beat an E30. Looks tremendous. The Nardi wood wheel is worth the purchase price in America as are the wheels anywhere.
