Shame. I won't be able to make it back before the last day.

Will watch the auction results with interest.

Always a shame when a place like this goes tits up.   In a previous life I used to have to visit Luton a lot and Stondon was my escape for many an afternoon.

What a shame, I visited this place last summer & it was fantastic, great way to spend a lazy afternoon. If you've never been, get down there before its too late!

Is that a Chapron DS decap behind the Pug 201? I would have thought selling that would give them enough cashflow to keep going if that's their problem.

Posted

They have been cutting down on the stock as it's been appearing at Brightwell's sales for at least the last 18 months. Looks like there will be a monster sale there some time soon.

Would it be really tight to just go and look at the cars at Brightwells (10 miles away) rather than traipse down.

There was brilliant Tatra there on Monday and the BX I've been bodging is set to join it.

Just got in from my first visit to Stondon, Mrs N pointed out. "This place is exactly what our house would be like if we won the lottery, isn't it?"

She didn't see this a positive thing though, I'll never understand women.

Can't pinpoint an E.T.A yet, am waiting for confirmation from a potential passenger.

Work allowing, I'm aiming to visit Stondon on the Saturday.

Jono with the Granada said he might be taking that up so I've called shotgun and might head up with him.

It's a shame we only learnt of this too late to get the Autoshite collective and have a quick whip round and buy out/help run the place, I know a few us need jobs right now.

Provisional Stondon E.T.A: circa midday.

Aiming to meet with Jono at 10:30ish at his place, choice of vehicle is dependant on the weather.

I'll be with him, I think he's taking his Focus? If I had more money I'd take the Mk3

Posted

Ok I'll see you there.  I'll be in the blue Alfa wagon, dodging puddles.

Champion! Whatever conveyances are used, I'm sure a cracking day awaits.

Is a midday shiters rendezvous, dans the carpark, still a possibility?

Edit: Scratch that, just read the above post...

The more I think about it as long as it's not hammering it down I might being my Mk3, the new gearbox needs road testing.

I will be there on Saturday with a mate. Been meaning to for a long time and this Saturday will be the last chance I will get....

Forecast looks cloudy with a bit of rain later, but not heavy. I think I've fixed the Cavalier so will trot along in that, ETA 12ish.

Look out for a rather tatty BX. Or if not there, look on the hard shoulder of the M1 for a tatty BX.

I have got to look at a sewer first thing but hope to be there not much after 12.00 noon, look out for my Citroen ZX TD Estate in two tone bright and faded red!

...for shits and giggles...?

I have got to look at a sewer first thing
