As Brenda Russell may have sung...

Just as I run through the door (Just a little more time)
I can set my sat nav for Ellesmere Port  (Can't you feel your webbed feet)
It's pullin' me back (Just a little more time)
Back to Griffin love

I know I'm caught up in the middle
I cry just a little
When I think of letting go
Of my cash, oh no, do you give up on the riddle
Did you cry just a little
When he buys Fronteras in the dark?

BOOM!

I papped a mega early one of these the other day, I almost forgot they existed. They went mostly missing about 5 years ago.

4x4 motoring for what it costs to tax a new Range Rover. Nice one.

Piano is the Dark is a forgotten CHOON! I know what I'll be blasting out of the tape desk of a beige Maestro when doing doughnuts in ASDA car park tomorrow.

If you want a matching pair my next door neighbour is selling his 2.2 pez for £250.

So long as no oe mentions bringing Jeremy Fucking Clarkson back it will be ace. Alloys look Ghay though.

2.2 petrol, not a flavour I've tried before, so we'll see what it's like. It certainly pulls well enough, but the car does have some issues (rest of Autoshite in NOT MASSIVE SURPRISE shocker) and seller has six (different to ones on car) alloys and tyres he's offered me for a decent price.

Aren't these potential mega money pits?

Top buying. From a Corsa to a moped to a frontera. Quality.

I'll let you know, David. The plan is to get them for spares/off roading but if it doesn't happen I'll let you know.

Watching with interest.... I was after a Fronterror when I bought the MG.

It sounds like we need to organise an AS off-roading day somewhere.

Hill And Ditch in Cheshire is a laugh, can try and organise if wanted?

It's about £25-30 I think, most (but not all) Sundays.

I have no idea who Brenda Russell is, I know with the Internet at my fingertips there is no excuse for such ignorance but meh. Anyway, the line about webbed feet cracked me up.

I'd almost forgot my bro had a 2-door sport (maybe all the sports were two door and I just said something silly) that he purchased brand new. From what I do remember about it I suspect he's done his best to forget it too.

There are still quite a few of them floating about here, lady up the road has a lwb in silver which looks mint (which is no mean feat in a country where everyone else doesn't give a toss about damaging your car). They still look good to me but I remember all the troubles they had and I wonder if these surviving examples are the ones with all the problems sorted or if their running gear has been replaced with that of a Lada Niva..

The SWB ones definitely seemed better in terms of reliability and were better off road, the two we had were great fun.

Same with the wheels I've only got steels on mine

If you get alloys are you selling the steels?

If you decide to let me know, I might need some 6 stud 16" if I cant afford smoothies in time....

I have no idea who Brenda Russell is..

I didn't either, so opened the thread imaging a forty year old Brenda Blethyn. I still am, only now she's in a Frontera, coyly pulling her skirt down to cover the tops of her stockings.
