Engine out, replace clutch shoes, engine back in, replace brakelines, get lights working, give a bloody good servicing to everything, and that should be it! deceptively simple LOL (oh and the small matter of the broken wheel stud...) I also would love to have a bash at getting the Milk float moving under its own sparks Mrs6C 1
catsinthewelder Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 I'll be there for as many as I can get away with. Photoshoot sounds like fun, perhaps one for a really hot weekend when we can't be bothered to do much mechanical work. chaseracer, BL Bloke, AnthonyG and 1 other 4

catsinthewelder Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Are you thinking of doing one Radwood weekend at the start of September? Just bought FotU ticket which reminded me of it.

My guess it will be the end of March or beginning of April before the weather allows a full FoD weekend event. However I would like to put the Saab 95 engine back in before that.

Any plans on the floor? Yes it is lovely to have a roof. We need to earn some more money before we do any more. We do have one roller shutter door to fit and there is a local window company who I hope we can get more pallets from to block off the other openings for now. Crackers, Shite Ron and Floatylight 3

Six-cylinder Posted January 7, 2023 Author Posted January 7, 2023 Preparing for my trip to Milton Keynes Classic Cars breakfast gathering in the morning I was pleasantly surprised the car started without assistance. Each time I have been to it it has needed a jump start and the garage who MOTed it reported the battery would not hold a charge. I left it on an old fashion charger for 3 days solid, then rested it for 3 days and today it started instantly. Tyre pressures check as @Slowsilver was not here to do that. Two were very low, one 17 psi and one has held pressure. The other good thing is there was no engine management light on, it has been a bit of a saga with this car. I had the camshaft position sensor changed as this was the code it threw up. After driving the car just a few miles the light was back on so we will see what tomorrow brings. Six-cylinder Posted January 9, 2023 Author Posted January 9, 2023 Our Volvo V70 T5 is now running nicely with some fresh petrol added as what was in there was at least 4 years old. The car started easily and ran smoothly but had felt a bit flat. Coprolalia, Saabnut, Ghosty and 9 others 11 1
Ghosty Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Always good to see a T5 alive. I'd never have sold mine if I wasn't so cripplingly broke.

Six-cylinder Posted January 16, 2023 Author Posted January 16, 2023 Yesterday was a lovely run out to the “The Flight Deck Café” at Turweston Aerodrome with the BMW Car Club Central Region. Lack of a running BMW saw me take the Volvo V70 which runs well even if the pesky engine management warning light is back on. Breakfast with a view. I love the hanging clouds in the Café, turns out they are for acoustic suppression.
