I believe they are exempt from pretty much everything everywhere, and because they accelerate quite well for their size, they seem to do surprisingly well in cities as long as you have a steersman who's well and truly on the ball. A decent road engine will do 12-15mph in high gear flat out and the average speed of London traffic isn't much more than that, so you can do stuff like this: Definitely something I'd love to have a go at. No need to worry about traffic, keep going and people will soon move out of the way, either that or they get pushed/squashed Crackers 1

Crackers Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Will probably come up for some of this weekend but I'm utterly knackered for no particular reason so it depends whether I end up staying in bed for a year on Saturday. Six-cylinder 1
catsinthewelder Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Looking nice and dry. Anyone else tempted to camp and which night? I probably should get some work done but I've done far too much of that recently. Six-cylinder 1
horriblemercedes Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 I was really hoping to make it but one of my colleagues has covid so I've been asked to cover this weekend. As I haven't been here long, I find it hard to turn it down Six-cylinder 1

You'd save a fortune by only taxing it for 6 months but I'd imagine if it gets the shit with being stored it'll light its dash up like a Christmas tree in a tantrum 😂🎄 Six-cylinder 1
Six-cylinder Posted June 29, 2022 Author Posted June 29, 2022 There is a plan to cut some metal shelving uprights down from 9ft to 7 ft to fit in the container. If you have some suitable cutting gear please bring it along at the weekend to FoD.
richardmorris Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Plasma torch or angry spinning wheel of doom? Don’t suppose my junior hacksaw will cut it ( ha ha). may come up, may be going to Wimbledon if sister can’t find anyone else to go with.

Six-cylinder Posted June 29, 2022 Author Posted June 29, 2022 I went topless this evening! Don't worry I mean the car. First time out for my 306 Convertible since I was put away for the winter. It drives better than I remember and was a pleasure to enjoy the evening sunshine going to a small car gathering in Milton Keynes. LightBulbFun, catsinthewelder and Crackers 3

We washed all those cars and you've put them away to get dusty again 🙄 I could book a couple of days off work (2 weeks notice) and come and do some more... We've tested the theory we can do 2 at once, I reckon we'd do 2x the full works as well fairly easily on the ones that would wash up well anyway 🤔

You are right, the grade for driving it had always been a "C". Last night across Milton Keynes countless roundabouts it corned tidily and seemed to have more torque than I remember pulling out of them. On the way home I diverted across to the A413 because I was fed up following traffic at 47 mph and was then tailgated by an Astra. It was a plain 18 plate model so stuck to 60 mph just in case, there are a couple of lovely sweeping bend sets, I stayed at 60mph it backed off! I then put petrol in it and found myself thinking where else should I drive, C+ now! That said I am giving a lift to another shiter this morning who preferred a lift in the Ami 8! beko1987, Floatylight, LightBulbFun and 2 others 4 1
beko1987 Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Sounds like a decent An_Car whilst the sun's out at least! Soak up all the shit roads and being pleasent with it, cost buttons to fix when you do a track rod or ball joint in within 5k knowing your roads well 😂 chaseracer 1
MrDuke Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 A request for this weekend - can anyone provide a torque wrench? I've 'mislaid' mine (have a horrible feeling it's 250 miles away, with the ex) and will need one for the head bolts. Beer will be provided by way of thanks.
MrDuke Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 I have a (mostly complete) Halfords Advanced socket set, so I imagine that will be fine?
