Right, update time:

The advisory for a 'minor blow' on the exhaust actually means it sounds alike a tank.

Filled it full of veg, starting is fine but it hunts like a hunty thing on national hunt day.

I got pulled in it the other night as the tax had t shown up on ANPR. Luckily the rozzer was ok, I'd tried to find the email to prove it , but it turned out I forgot to ask for it when I taxed on line. Got home and found confirmation from my bank, so hopefully panic over.

I've put my spare alloys on now until I get the oh her car back, hasn't half improved the looks...

I had those alloys on my 206!

Those wheels are just right, not too sporty etc. With those and the painted bumpers, it appears rather respectable.
To keep that back quarter stain free, I'd nick a "Mr Muscle Kitchen" spray from under the boss's sink, keep it with your funnel and rags, and after the inevitable slops go down the paintwork, a quick squirt and wipe will make light work of it.
