How best to ship a tyre?

Recommended Posts

Folks, I need to get a tyre over to Mr. Shitpeas. Never shipped anything like this before. Anyone know of a decent way of getting it sorted?

Cheers

i've had tyres arrive in all sorts, from fully wrapped in card and tape to the bare tyre with an address label taped to it....

Just stick a label on and wrap the label area with loads of tape so it doesn't fall off. That's how all the tyre supplier places do it.

Brynn Foss specialise in shipping tyres, or is that tyring ships?

As above, wrap it if you want, if not just slap a label on it.

Could this not go pony express with the bumper? or is that asking too much of the person doing the shifting?

Yodel for £7.20. Doesn't seem bad tbh. Hermes for 30p more.

Nowt to break on my parcel luckily.

Bin bag, address label, Parcel Force.

How to package up a full interior for UKMail. Used to do my mammary glands right in that.

Don't use Yodel they're crap. Hermes have always worked fine for me. They can be slow but they're reliable.

It can come up with the bumper no worries, (unless Bazza wants it, like, tomorrow or something).

Bumper de-lofted and all ready and waiting. Shame the tyre went via Yodel but huge thankage to all involved. AS really, really IS what it used to be (but I knew that anyway).

Cheers

Our Will has all your details Ken for bumper collection tomorrow night. I did ask him to make contact some time before he lands, but if not, look out for a veg-oil-slimy 205 pulling a trailer!

Was there a filler cap to go too, or did I actually dream that?

Can't it be ferried up using multiple shitters?

I'm heading from Hemel to Liverpool on Friday, for the last time. So if mr Shit peas lives somewhere on route, I'll take it.

www.paisleyfreight.com recommended for alloy wheels and tyres.  They subcontract to APC or whoever for the actual delivery but have simple pricing for alloys and tyres and are. cheap

Paisley freight are good. I have used them for wheelz loadsa times and they have been reliable. As long as they are packed properly, they should arrive OK.

I have bought tyres for the alfa on Oponeo and they usually come from Europe. Tyres are just labeled and have always arrived un-damaged.

I'm more careful than that loading up the L200 for a tip run...
