Dollywobbler's GR-8 Rover - getting better all the time

I'm on a one out one in principle and I have an urge for an Eastern European car ...

Rover 600's a design classic in my eyes. For a car designed 22 years ago it hasn't aged at all. Even the equivilent Honda Accord still looks modern. :)

Well, it certainly matches both Practical and Comfort. What sort of asking price?

I've just remembered this 620D that i saw at Battlesbridge in 2012, It was dog rough, the back window was made from two pieces of perspex mastic together.

So, the XM is out as my budget is too feeble. I very nearly bought this.

It seems good value, and I almost agreed a figure even less. Then I spotted that it was Disabled tax. DOH! That allowed sufficient time for me to come to my senses. I still think it's good value, but it's not for me.

Offers for other things, including more 600s have been floating around and my Watch List makes for interesting viewing. Nothing's at the 'hand over money' stage yet though.

I think it's fair to assume that any 600 on Ebay is on my watch list. ;) Am tempted to go and have a look at that one. Though it's still over 60 miles away, even though it's in Leekland.

Fair enough, I was looking for one I thought I remembered being for sale near me but that was the nearest one and didn't occur to me until I'd posted it that you'd already have seen it!

Ok, that's a whole bowl of temptation right there. It's not as stylish as a Rover 600, but it has an interesting number of cylinders and fits my budget.

I had a Rover 600 Diesel for the day earlier in the year courtesy of my local MOT station. I don't know how something so dull left such an impression on me. I was straight on eBay looking for the fast model. I also have a overwhelming urge for an early MK5 Escort XR3i just because I like the front grill.

I doubt you could get a much nicer car than those for 400 quid. As said previously I recon the 600 is a great design. Its definetely a handsome looking car much more so than the honda versions although the interiors aren't all that unless you get leather though.

I had a 620di when it was about 4 years old and it was massive turd of a car, It conked out and lost 2nd gear within a week of me getting it. I ended up chopping it after 3 months as it was such a colossal shite heap. It was probably just a bad egg but for that reason I'd not have another diesel one. A 620ti however..

Oh yeah, I entered this thread wanting a Rover 600 and ended up buying a Blue, MK3 Ford Orion Lx

As a dedicated 600 owner the only downside I can see is that legroom on the back is a bit tight, problem solved.

Seller reckons it's got a Full main dealer history, does that mean it hasn't been touched for nearly 10 years?

I H8 SILVAH!

Facelifted 800s look awful. That's the realisation I made today.

That's the one I posted in the eBay thread last week, I think that would be the answer to all your problems. Really nice, well equipped cars.

Edit the Aerodick I mean.
