As per the thread title, hello! Ive been lurking here for a month or two and thought I'd emerge from the shadows of the interweb. I have a minor, possibly treatable, tendency to buy odd-looking cars, and at present have a 1990 Saab 900 convertible, a 1994 Range Rover LSE, a 1974 Citroen DS, and a 2003 VW Golf. I know the Golf is anonymous, not odd-looking, but perhaps the others make up for it. I live in Lincolnshire, on the edge of Grimsby, but am a southerner by birth and upbringing. Before the oil runs out, I'd love to own a '60s yank tank and a Volvo 240. There. That's probably enough random information to start with :-)

Your post is useless without photographic evidence. c- must do better.

Which do you enjoy driving the most? And welcome.

Welcome along!

Saab? Range Rover? DS? Meh. We want Golf! We want Golf!

Sorry, my Antipistonhead tablets haven't kicked in yet. Welcome!

I'm sure someone could make your Golf odd-looking for a very modest charge if you ask nicely.

Welcome aboard.

Admitting to owning a Golf on this forum is about as sensible as changing your name to Rolf Harris by deed poll and getting a job in an all girls school.

I own a Golf but I don't admit it.

Hi & welcome - we like photos  :-)

Before the oil runs out, I'd love to own a '60s yank tank

I'd say Junkman is the go-to guy for retro Americana automobile identification, or just about any old car identification for that matter :-)

I've got 50p that says by the end of October we've peer-pressured you into fulfilling at least one of these excellent objectives.

Welcome along!

Buy a Volvo, get a free* Scottish passport, absolutely** free***!

Welcome :)

Thank you for your welcome :-) I'm not sure if the Volvo or unspecified Yank car will arrive first. There's enough to be going on with already.

Here're a couple of pics of the Saab, one with bonus British engineering thrown in.

Even buying a Golf won't treat you of that tendency you have, but it's okay, you're amongst fellow sufferers here.

Thanks for the welcome :-)

Here're some pics: the DS and I went to the tip at Immingham this afternoon, which is the first two; the Saab found a fellow-banger companion outside Lincoln Cathedral (the third one) and the fourth is the Range Rover having some work done.

Hulloo there, Welkom along and such.

I think it was Meat Loaf what said "2 out of 3 ain't bad"

By those parameters, your fleet is "greater than not bad to the power of +1"

Would've been Four out of Four twere it not for the fore...

Welcome! You've got a DS and a Range Rover so neither of your objectives will be too difficult, Volvo 240s require the purchase of three or four other Volvos to keep them company however...

Sorry, I forgot to say hello, so hello. I'm new here too so I kind of feel like I don't have the right, like a visitor to your house that lets more people in without asking...

Looks like you have one of those Australian export DSes there...

...the fourth is the Range Rover having some work done.

Some? Looks pretty major to me!

I don't know why the DS has turned upside-down. It's usually to be found the other way up.

The RR went in to the garage with a water leak (rainwater, in - not coolant, out), and that was the result. It doesn't leak now, but I'm sure will do before too long

@rml2345 I like the idea of multiple Volvos :-) What's the collective term? A herd? Stampede?

This is a photo of the Saab outside my last-but-two house:

Yes, welcome! You have two of the finest steeds. I see the RR is a complete strip back. Any plans or is just going back together normal, like?

Hello.

Go and buy a 240 and a yank tank right now. It's going to happen soon so it might as well be today. start with the Ebay tat thread, then stupid question amnesty, start a Talk to me about... thread and then a shite collection thread with petrol station photo. That's how it works around here. Get it done. Now.
