ruffgeezer Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 On the horizon there is a house move, one that is beneficial to all in my household excluding me. If it comes off, I will be losing over half of my garage space, and I will not have time to sell my excess tools separately, so in Autoshite's all new way of rehoming tat, how about a big ol' raffle for a decent selection of tools? I've a Sealey tool trolley to house it all, and it will include a reasonable 1/2" socket set more details will be added when I get off my arse and start the sort out. This is the trolley I have: Not sure if this'll be a goer, I'll update this weekend when I've got it populated a bit more. Inspector Morose, eddyramrod, Micrashed and 1 other 4
Ghosty Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Tempting, if not a logistical nightmare. I do need some proper tools.
ruffgeezer Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 I will of course be including some, none or many of bits from the auction haul thread: http://autoshite.com/topic/12325-auction-tool-tat-haul-bucket-o-spanners/
ruffgeezer Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 This is the first box put aside, and represents 5 minutes of sorting. What tools do shitests wish they had in their boxes? Inspector Morose 1
Micrashed Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Oh wow, a hand drill. I use dto have one, no idea where it went.So handy for little odd jobs away from the mains and saves breaking out the extension lead and mains drill for all of 2 minutes work. You can even drill brick with them if you are patient. brickwall 1
Dave_Q Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I R in for this, have you decided how much the tickets will be?
ruffgeezer Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 It depends how big a pile I end up with, I was thinking of doing the Lotto bonus ball think, couple of quid a ticket?
Inspector Morose Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 What tools do shitests wish they had in their boxes?Easy. More tools!
ruffgeezer Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 More to add; a 1/2" drive socket set, and a set of spanners up to 19mm. Later this week I will brave the drawer of hammers to see what I can turn up. What would you guys say to doing it lotto bonus ball style? 49 tickets, couple of quid a roll?
drum Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 The only downside is that £100 worth of secondhand tools is bound to include a lot of stuff I don't need.
The Moog Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Yep would be up for this. Never can have too many tools (unless you have to move house) brickwall 1
ruffgeezer Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 Well this is always true of any bulk tool purchase, which is how I have so many sets of tools. What I am endeavoring to do is put a complete starter kit in, or as best as I can manage. I've got a set of halfords pro deep sockets, ratchet & extensions to go in and a set of draper shallows, all 3/8 drive.
vulgalour Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 This has reminded me that I forgot to ask about those Imp Spanners when I was at yours yesterday.
Mr Livered Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 This sounds great, I could do with some tools, in fact I've been promising myself some for a while but all the spare money seems to go on actual cars - so I increase my need for tools at the same time as removing my ability to purchase them. brickwall 1
ruffgeezer Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 Ok so here's how it's going to work. There are 49 numbers to choose from, you can buy as many or as few as you like, the numbers are £2 each. This is the tool haul that one lucky person will win, according to whichever number comes up on the lotto the Saturday after all numbers are sold. This trolley: And these tools:
