Registered Dave, but found a potential problem: I can't see anything that requires you to prove your address, name or phone number. I can see that that might lead to problems from knobheads bidding and not buying and people creating hoax accounts to troll or try and scam or spam people.

Still setting thing up Billy, loads to do as yet

I've put a listing on Dave to see how it goes. Another thing to consider is listing times I notice you have two days then one week, two weeks etc.

Appreciate you're just setting up, just trying to point things out mate.

If anyone sees anything that needs changing let me know by all means

Isn't it a bit too similar to Ebay was a few years back?, I can't see them liking the layout/name/colour scheme very much?.

Whilst I do like it, ^ this very much. eBay are very litigious and I'd be making it a bit less similar to be honest.

Aye, buy it now' could be 'outright buy' or something like that.

Right, things I think are worth having.

There is no version (that I can see) of 'My D-bay'. Is it possible to have it and call it 'MyList' or pehaps (username) dbay?

If you list thing using two categories, do you get separate listings as this will mean separate bids on two adverts for one item?

Do you have a feedback option?

(More to come)

Buy it now could be "I want it" and make offer could be "try your luck"

Signed up but I are disappointed by the lack of "barn find" cars

I suspect that any title with bay in it is going to ring a big alarm bell at ebay's lawyers so be prepared for a $5,000,000,000 writ to land in your lap.

And the tv channel dave might think they have a grievance. Its very difficult this corporate game. How about Autoshitesales, cos we can't be arsed to complain.

OH RLY?

I agree with Trigger and Mr L; you may find yourself sailing a bit close to the IP wind if it takes off. I would have a plan B in reserve with a name that couldn't possibly be confused with another site. Dyab? :)

I wouldn't be too bothered about using the word "bay" , as someone set up 'baycrazy' and that seems to be still going.

It is a LOT like ebay in regards to visual appearance, but I’m sure you have a plan etc.
Be great to use when fully functioning, as we won't have to contend with the usual eBay w*nker, just some irate rusty car collecting old boy instead.

Good luck !

one thing you might want to do is hide the sellers postcode on an item, a rigger booted person may come with his hiab to collect the floods of omg barn finds at 4am and forget to leave payment

Just registered. I noticed in the State/Provance bit there is a lack of 'Birmigham/Midlands' but there is Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire......

There are quite a few established "bay" auction sites including australian dbay.

Wont be doing much on there today but hope to get it finished over weekend.

Looking for a better software as well but silly prices are too much at moment.

Dave, Instead of 'Dbay' what about 'Bday'? B as in Buy*.

*Also Gr8 for selling arse cleaning bathroom porcelain.

Other excellent ideas: 'Buy it Now' could be 'WCPGW'

'Make an Offer' could be 'Best Price M8?'

Playing with some better software as one i was using was very buggy & unreliable.

Wondering if auction function is actually needed or would Buy it now/Cash price with maybe offers do the job.
