Always worth watching these crappy things to see the chod. Nice wee Metro tucked away in the disabled spot.

No amount of chod would persuade me to watch BOAF

Not even the episode where they take a roadtrip to Europe to collect a classic car that they inherited that turns out to be a Bubblecar which they then drive back?

I haven't seen that episode admittedly, but in answer to your question, especially that episode.

It was even a Messerschmitt Tiger in that episode

Not that I've ever watched BOAF. 8)

I watched BOAF once in the 90s.

It took me three days to recover my sight.

This must have been one of the shittest most unfunny series of all time. I don't know of one person who ever watched it.

I like how the disabled bay is no wider than any of the others

My mum thought it was hilarious :-(

Obviously it was appalling and my mum has the worst taste in TV ever.   She also liked That's Life, reponsible for the final nail in Lancia's coffin in the UK the bar stewards.

I like watching it mainly due to the locations, cars and vacuum cleaners (in the 1992ish episodes Tracy had a U1222 Electricity board special Turbopower Junior in Scheme B (Camarge Grey/Charcoal Grey)), then a Goblin Commander and some form of late Electrolux Glider, then I got bored and stopped watching

Sometimes it can be funny, can sometimes be my guilty pleasure but Drama fuck me off so much with their repeats! We came home one sunday after being away all weekend to find 189 episodes recorded and a grumpy sky box as Drama ran them non stop for a day, and it got every one of them! I then got a bollocking as it didnt record Amys stuff!

But then I like shit like this! Watched Heartbeat until I was sick of it, darling buds of may,Born and Bred etc! Can't beat early 90's shows for chod spotting though! I only watched the Ray Daley minder eps because A I'd watched every Terry one so though I may as well and B I started to see cars I recognised from my childhood, even if the plots were complete shite most of the time, and the crap music they started playing over scenes etc

Christ on a bike I cannot bear that ‘darling buds of may’, I had forgotten all about that for years and now you have reminded me of it! I just want to shoot myself in the face with a blunderbuss after 30 secs of it, my god do I hate that programme man. I FUCKING HATE IT AAAAARRRRRGGGHHH!!!!!

Bread!   My old dear loved that as well.   Got to agree with Mr Bollox, that was really fucking awful and even at the time totally out of touch with reality.   'A family of Scousers and they're all scallys, fiddling the dole, loveable rogues, etc, etc.   Just fuck off.

Yep, my dad had one. In gold. A quality car and no mistake.

(And I reckon that Polo could easily make the cover of Perfomance Pineapple these days.)

What exactly was it about BOAF that people found amusing? I mean, there are plenty of old sit-coms that I hate, but I still kind of understand why other people laughed at them (Bread because of the scouser stereotyping, DBOM because it's all nostalgic and twee and it's got Del Boy in so it must be funny, etc etc) but I cannot fathom why the hell anyone ever enjoyed watching, or more accurately listening, to such a thoroughly pointless series. Maybe it's because I have such a pathological hatred of east london 'accents', I don't know.

Anyhow, to keep it O/T, TOYOTA TERCEL!!!!  HELL YEAH!!!

The only thing I remember about BOAF is that the husbands go to jail in the first episode for a botched bank job in which the getaway car is a Zodiac Mk3. That and the Sunny ZX Coupe.

It was awful enough in 1990, why on earth they thought it merited a remake I cannot fathom. I am mildly surprised that Dorien (sp?) is still alive.

cough..Honda Civic Shuttle...😉

Question is, why do they remake any comedy show? It's always absolute hogwash. The recent Fast Show revival proved that. Terrible.

The revival of "Yes, Prime Minister" was similarly awful despite being written by the same people. I remember watching BOAF as a kid and it wasn't that bad at the time and certainly better than some. Nowadays all these things are excellent for chod watching, particularly "Keeping Up Appearances".

^ Especially Onslow's front garden, usually to be found with either a cortina or avenger on bricks complete with dog.

I seem to remember they said "dittant" which meant "didn't" and "oi nevarr" which meant "I never" which had a similar meaning to "dittant"

The fat one was very ugly and the thinner one was slightly less ugly but had such a pursed expression her face literally resembled a cats arse

Martin Clunes has ruined Reggie Perrin. If I ever meet him I will point that out.

Oh no... whose bright idea was that? You can't remake this stuff, it never works. OK, telly suits: let's do Steptoe. Name your actors to play Albert and Harold. And if anyone says Ricky Gervais I will find you, and I will kill you.
