Seen a few of them!!  The theory is that service intervals are 6000mls, but they only do 1500mls or so a year so the logic is that it only needs servicing every 3 to 4 years and the MoT will take care of the car anyway won't it?????

mmmmmmmmmmm

"First to see will buy"

Reading the above really makes me want to go and view the POS but not buy it. The quote usually applies to the cocky type morons that genuinely believe their car is far better than the other 200 examples for sale within 50 miles of your selected post code.

Needs small amount of paintwork - (and the bodywork to put it on)

What about "*price* if gone today" I mean does that mean that if it doesn't sell... They will charge more for it tomorrow

Is it just me who reads "never been welded" as "could probably do with some welding by now"?

Usually it has been welded but seller/dealer hasn't even looked, or its been done well and isn't glaringly obvious.

"Engine turns over, but we haven't attempted to start it.".....we tried ti get the fecker going for 4 hours, jumped it, towed, slaved it, poured petrol down it,...not a peep,

This Instafuck craze is bloody annoying when people use it to photograph a car on Ebay. This looks a lovely shade of metallic brown in the pics but I bet it's not.

$_57.JPG

Be fair to him, it wasn't his fault. His alsatian hand puppet threatened to bite his ear off if he didn't. He didn't have much choice.

At least that car is the right way up. How or why people can't orientate pictures correctly, or change it when they spot that they aren't, is beyond me. To wit also: pictures taken from 3rd floor flats, across a busy road, etc. Anything that was one iota of effort less than taking it somewhere nice, and having a go at taking a pretty pic.

I once saw an Auto Trader advert for a Honda Accord, numpty hadn't taken off the Leeds City Council minicab stickers off the doors, and they were trying to tout it as a 'well cared for example', yeah possibly before it was a bastard minicab in Beeston!

New one on me is "evocation" which appears to mean it's a half-arsed attempt at a replica, of something desireable, but with too many wrong bits to count.

Great Investment = If its such a great investment then why are you selling it now?

Mint condition.

Nothing can ever be realistically described as 'mint'.

Unless it is actually a mint, like a polo or a Murray or similar.

Or it was a staff car at the Royal Mint.

Or Robert Smith wrote a song about it.

'3 months warranty at screen price'. Meaningless bollocks that we will weasel out of when the car shits its self next week, and we've charged you at least £150 for

"Fast appreciating classic":  I have included the first 15 years' worth of appreciation in the selling price already.

"Usable classic":  Interior ripped and filthy.

"££££s spent":  Hideously unreliable and parts are very expensive.

Have we had 'MANY NEW PARTS' yet?  That always suggests worrying implications...

Not necessarily, parts do wear out and provided they've replaced them with good stuff I consider that a plus, saves the next owner the expense.

Advert introduced by way of the registration number.......... seems to be happening regularly - pointless !

£395 "as stated".................. what is that supposed to mean ?

Am I alone in seeing three times that a seller would tax the cars on purchase for £20 ? Plus of course the cost of the road tax... I e-mailed one seller who put that in his advert to ask if he was jesting ~ the tone of his reply indicated that he jesteth not.

Ebay puts the reg into the title automatically, if you let it auto-fill the form data by entering your reg.

You then have to edit it and change it to the title you want. Some people are too thick for that and thus the ad ends up with only the reg in the title.

On Rover K-Series:

"head gasket gone" = head gasket gone

"no head gasket problems/no overheating/head gasket replaced" = head gasket gone

I always find it strange when it says 'any trial or test considered'

''Would you agree to a 3000 mile road test by the ADAC?"

"Would you agree to me performing a hill climb up porlock hill in it whilst laden with a dozen or so paving slabs?"

"Could I minicab it for a week or so to test the resilience of the fabric to sick and beer?"
