Presumably it dissolved with the thawing snow.

Opening of a new bridge in Fredrikstad Norway 1957. A Ford model A is in the picture car 2, it would have been at least 26 years old then, the first car is an Adler unsure of the model. car 3 unsure what it is it looks English? and 4 is an American from the 1930s, not sure what brand but reminds me of something from GM. and last car no 5 is a Peugeot.

Any idea where that was, as that truck in the bottom of the pic was owned by the Foundry that used to be opposite the railway station just up the road from me until it shut about 15 years ago and is now a housing estate.

Yes, it was Doncaster. According to the description this scrapyard was located "at the York-Doncaster highroad":

Norway late 70s or early 80s. The big estate is a 1960 Plymouth it was on the road until 1982. There is no scrap notice on it so may still be alive in a barn somewhere.

Austin Westminster.

Could be a A90 Westminster and it might be a A40/A50 Cambridge. All 3 look very similar.

Some bridges these days could do with some bells like this, I've also seen chains used as a gauge.

May I ask if you know where this was taken? The railway bridge has been widened at some stage, as one can see the inner arched bridge and the newer girder one in front of it. The very pretty little Fiat 500 has a London number, but that doesn't mean too much!

Not really, unfortunately. The location is only described as "England", which isn't very helpful...

Blackwall Tunnel. Inside they have metal tubes dangling from chains as well.

People's heads were larger in those days.
