Hateful things, some friends of mine had one which rapidly became my nemesis. Endless issues, horrid to work on - was like working on a 25 year old car, everything was seized, rounded or f@cked in some way or other.

You wouldn't have believed it was a low miles 8 year old car.

If the ABS light is on, it's probably the secret fuses on top of the battery.

I ended up refusing to fix it anymore, then persuaded them to get rid.

I think it sums the state of things up nicely that only a tiny minority of us can even tell what the fucking thing is. I too was gushing on about Lupos.

Can anyone CAP this for me, please? It's a 2004, looks really tidy 1.4 petrol. MOT/tax, air con about 104,000 miles I think.

Billy PM me da reg no.

Ha ha!, I was waiting for Volksy to post when I saw this.

I drove the 2004 Polo he refers to and thought it was awful. It felt like a car 20yrs older to drive, it was slow, the interior was cheap, the gear ratios were awful, the steering vague. I really cannot think of a good thing to say about it.

I would say it was very much like my Visa to drive, however I expect my Visa to drive like that, its an old car and I like that, its part of its charm. I expect a modern car to drive in a manner at least similar to its peers.

It will sell as its an OMG SUPER RELIABLE VW. My mates had several people interested before they took it to WBAC as another spring had broken. However I would not sell it to anyone who I liked, or moderately disliked come to that. I would happily sell it to a rapist, paedophile or Tory MP though.

Good call on WBAC, theyve just offered enough profit to make it worth a try. Ive only got one key though, will try and get another cut. Cheers!

Bollocks, just seen their 'one off admin fee' of £49.99, thieving fuckers.

Most reliable car I've ever had. 1.9 TDI for the unstressed motorway experience.  :-P

Mrs.Fraud has one of them modern VW contraptions. Admittedly, it doesn't go wrong particularly often, but even simple jobs like changing the bloody brake pads turn into a nightmare because the thing is full of cheapo fasteners that seize and then get rounded off if you dare applying more than 0.1NM to them !

I strongly suspect that they buy from the same company that supplied fasteners to BL in the 1970s !

Vile, vile, vile - congratulations. Wow, I can feel the pure misery oozing out of the screen.

Sand bonnet back to bare metal, pee and tip beer all over it to hasten the rust effect.

Or sell it quickly and be grateful for the lucky escape. Throw sim card in nearest canal and run away laughing.

...Heater only blows cold...

'They all do that, sir', judging by the number of VWs I see being driven by people wearing woolly hats in the summer.

WBAC offered me £710 (less £49.99 rip off fees) and a local car auction reckons itll clear £800 in my jet.

If anyone on here wants it I'll let it go for £750, and youre more than welcome to comne and try it out and bring a fault code reader.
