Friday.  About a four hour drive each way.  Crikey.

Are you hauling it behind the xantia? If so prepare for a calendar shot, hope it all goes smoothly, will be its first trip out of Wales in a very long time.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were its first trip out of Wales EVER.  Yes, we will be using the Xantia for the mission and a 14' trailer which is the smallest I could hire.  Going to be a loooooong day with a good eight hours driving in it at least but at least I should be able to split that with Mike.

We don't have the technology to offer live updates, you'll have to make do with roving reporters and post-humus updates instead.

I'm both excited and anxious about this particular mission.  The Renault has even less of a place in my fleet than when I bought it, but I shall at least make the effort to get it MoT'd.

This update has many excellents. I wish you luck with the next stage of this car's salvation.

Speaking of which, what happened to Junkman's Granada also from this stash?

Good luck V. If you ever decide to sell can I haz 1st dibs please :)

If I get it back and it's totally fucked not to my taste, sure thing!  Probably.  They do seem to be worth daft cash now, not sure how that happened, this could be the only vehicle I purchase that's worth more in time to come rather than less.

Having said that, the only thing cheaper than this Renault is Shitpeas' Lanos.

Massive Kudos to you and Mr Duke for saving this lovely little car.

I like the thought  of Mr D being the caretaker sort of  a Quentin Tarantino character.

More like Lionel Stander in 'Hart to Hart'

You can find just such a shot in previous pages of this very thread, complete with grey skies.

I used to have one. It was hand paintedbin a pale shade of dulux blue. The clytch had been replaced by a Renault "specialist" and the brake pipe that went across rhe front cross member had been lengthened so it didn't have to be removed for future clutch replacement. I loved it and it didnt ever let me down. I swapped it for a Mini. The guy who took it on used it for a 60 mile commute until the rear suspension parted company with the body shell due to corrosion. The drivers side rear passenger door had to be held shut with a self tapping screw. OAH441P, where are you niw?

Are you Arther Bestrom?

I thought this was a proper image from today, I got confuzzled despite the title of the thread. Can I have my 'like' back as I think I might have double 'liked' by accident if this is an old photo. How does this work? If I post something I posted in the past and you liked, do you like it again to make us even?

The modern world confuses me. In situation like this in the old days I used to just tie an onion to my belt, which was the fashion at the time.

Maybe I just won't like a photo when you actually collect it. Will that be okay?

That picture was in the past, but it's such a good picture it deserves all the likes it gets.  The picture I shall post will happen in the future, so you'll have to wait for it and there is no mandate dictating you must like it.

Entirely understandable, it's taken me a little over a year to collect this car!  Probably the longest collection thread timescale ever.  Right, bed time for me because I've got a 7:30am alarm and don't like mornings.

Take a RatDat with you so it's MOT standard by the time you get home.

And a Bickle who will be able to tell you what unobtanium NOS parts he probably has lying around.

I also expect tweets!
