Vauxhall Carlton GSi with no tax or MOT:

DSCF0040.jpg

Bad bits - no tax or MOT, few issues with dash electrics but I'm sure it's just a wire trapped behind clocks, heater motors work, but need setting up, I have the 'How To' for these, headlining sagging behind sunroof, bootlid and rear spoiler, both bumpers need paint, handbrake cable is fubar (new one to go with).
I have no time or desire to get it back on the road, despite everything.
It was insured for a total loss value of £6500 4 years ago, but I know I ain't gonna get that for it.

Best offer over £3,500.

£1600 for a starter, anyone know what's going on? They also have others at £1500 and a bargain version at about £1100.

That is weird. They also think that ISO 9001 is a standard for car parts.

Conmen, and not very good ones.

I asked the question

Hi, is the price correct? Do you sell many? I want a 924 starter motor but the price more than my car is worth and approx 20 times the average Ebay price. Paul

 And I got the answer

The price is incorrect , but this is only due to our system waiting for more stock as soon as it arrives the price will automatically change back to the correct pricing. We may be able to offer another brand if you are actually looking for one of these?

Egay fee avoidance frenzy ^^^^

Now check this out.....

$_49.JPGA really clean old thing, agreed, ;low mileage, and has been living in a museum. In Hungary. Where it still is.

Manufactured in the Soviet Union in 1981. Hungary certified vehicle museum. One owner for 33 years. 67,587 KM, FACTORY CONDITION, 30 to 40 years ago, Eastern Europe summit model. Uttler gobbledegook.

No it's not, but the goat-fondler who wrote the advert appears to be a Brummie. Kipper Tie?

Oh, ought to mention, it's £10,500.

Check this bad boy out.

Can't get the MSA to allow you to ride an actual pig on track? then try this - as close* as you can get to doing it for real

This guy reckons he's spunked £20,000 - and this is what he has to show for it? So you want a track day car, you buy an Impreza Turbo with 60k on the clock. you have a budget of £20k. You have a 'retired race car builder' on hand to give expertise, advice, possibly even hands-on work THINK OF THE FUCKING POSSIBILITIES.

And with all that potential, you create this:

its time to take a long hard look at yourself. then reach for the gun and do the honourable thing...

The questions are a treat:

Q: HAVE YOU HAD A PROBLEM WITH PRESCRIPTION DRUGS WHAT THE F IS IT A PIGEON LOFT ON WHEELS

A: is your life really that sad and empty that you need to send abusive messages on Ebay?? if you don't like the car then you don't have to bid on it do you! or you could keep pigeons in it if you would like to

Hi M8 seemed to have typed an extra 4 into the price for your escort.

looks nice but £14995 for a mk4 escort. I don't think so.

I DON'T want to start an argument but back in the day, that wasn't a mk4 escort, but a Series 2 Mk3 escort.  When did 'we' start calling it a mk4 ?

Posted

The RS models were series 1 and 2 but I've always known that shape as Mk4.

Google Mk4 Escort and you get billions of pictures of that shape, so to call the 1991> model the Mk4 instead would be hideously confusing.

Bloody lovely though, and nicer inside than most houses

This sellers perceptions of condition, value and right-way-upness differ from mine.

200k miles - £5000.

Oh I don't know - anything weighing a ton and a half that can hang upside down has to be worth that for sheer effort.
