ebay 'BARGAINS'

Is it just me or does the car in the tunnel picture look nothing like the one in the auction catalog

They straightened it out a bit. Chap was going to do a full resto on it. Some PR chappy has been working overtime with it being described as 'the last Mini to leave Longbridge.' Seems the folk with truly silly money were not won over by that line!

They have doe that loads of times. I sent them an email once asking if they had made a mistake. They came out with some waffly crap about contacting them with the correct price. Some stupid advertising stunt IIRC. Substitute st for another letter more like. Bunch of fuckwits.

I'd imagine they don't have the part in stock, so don't know how much one will cost. You contact them, they ring a supplier, double the price, and get back to you with the "correct" figure. Pretty standard reselling practise but at least most people doing this can be arsed to look prices up first.

it does not have an MOT

Seems that my local 2nd hand Jag dealer has taken up smoking crack:

I don't care how nice an example this is, it ain't worth shit. If I look on the 'sold' listings on Ebay the most expensive one to have sold recently was £862.51.

Okay, this does look pretty nice with only £16k on the clock but I think you would be hard pressed to find someone who wants to spend £2.5k on such a miserable fucking driving experience as this car will bring.

"I know the pictures are shit but I don't have a proper camera"

Brilliant, he must have enough invested in ebay listing fees to have bought a camera with a free Iphone attached to it by now.

I need the space as I drive a Volvo now

Surely we can start a justgiving fund or something to buy that 405 and put the whole internet out of it's misery.

I disagree. I don't see why we should reward this belming twat for his ignorant, thick-skinned perseverance in trying to sell a £200 car for twice its value.

Not even £200 at the moment, scrap value is shite. Its got OMGHGF and no MOT, the only thing it appears to have going for it is a 'large boot'

Not even worth it for spares on a base model.

I wasn't thinking about him I was thinking about everyone else on the internet who's sick of the sight of the bloody thing.

But you can't because decimalisation didn't happen until 1971 so you have to pay him in Groats or something.

I would cut a hole in the roof and tip a JCB scoopful of 20p's into it.

Perhaps cut a hole in HIS roof and fill it with 20p's where the brain should be

A real deluded nut case right here

with only four models found worldwide U.S.A, GREECE, POLAND and SCOTLAND.

The fact that the number plate and "D" reg plus the mileage on the clock in no way relate to new parts regular upkeep and care that this car has received. In 1997 the recorded mileage was 125509 miles and was owned by an elderly couple in the village of Whiteparish, Wiltshire.

No mention of current mileage or MOT. Whats the damage then

price:

£5,000.00

Not even funny really.

This is a lovely car in perfect working order.

Sounds good.

It currently has a SORN notice on it,

That's a shame but if it's cheap I'm sure we can work something out.

while it passed its MOT (end of last year) they said that in order to pass this year we would need to have the emmissions checked which is a very small and inexpensive check.

That doesn't sound very good. Hopefully it's a good price

£4500

Good luck I hope they reduce your dosage soon!

Bollocks. I know of at least 2 in Belgium, 4/5 here in England including that the one above, and probably countless others all over the world.
