KruJoe Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 You'd have thought he'd stretch to finding the right filler cap at that coin.

mk2_craig Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 £55,000. On Alderney. World's crappiest car sales website
carlo Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 190,000, no MOT, needs a clutch and rear brakes & headlight and he wants £300 for it.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1994-PEUGEOT-405- ... 286.c0.m14
r.welfare Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 What a dipstick. That is overpriced by at least a factor of 10, in the current climate. Handbrake cables are easy enough but the clutch wouldn't be much fun. That'd even be too much for a tidy TD estate needing the same amount of work.
Richard Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 190,000, no MOT, needs a clutch and rear brakes & headlight and he wants £300 for it.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1994-PEUGEOT-405- ... 286.c0.m14I don't think that's too bad really. It's a nice enough car, it appears to have been well looked after and it's got a DAB stereo in it, which would fetch almost £100 on its own. I haven't done a 405 clutch but I've done a 305 XUD one and it was quite easy, certainly much easier than the Escort TD one. A weekend's work would give you a tidy little car that could last several years with no big problems.

Guest Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 1984 Toyota Corolla 1.3GL £1595 from a dealer. Clean car, but a FWD non-sports Corolla with 51K on the clock, I can't imagine the phone ringing off the hook to be honest.
Albert Ross Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Regards the Lancia from Walkers.........I did the deal to sell them my Daughter's Yellow 02 plate Punto Sporting a couple of years ago. They offered book plus 300 quid over the phone, without a viewing involved. Took it up, had the cash in an envelope, he then paid 100 quid more than the original offer when he saw the condition. Top dealer, wouldn't have any qualms handing over cash like that. He had about 10 Deltas on the front, and 3 or 4 in the showroom. Parts and parts cars galore, and a very busy workshop. Seems he had quite a rig for Rally Support in the 80s/90s. Might just pop up to see what he's got kicking around.................

And he needs to get The Doctor down to work a bit of his valeting magic on it too to get anywhere near a grand.
mouseflakes Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Just £4995 buys you this... Perhaps it's a minter? Oh yes, look. It's only done 178,000 miles EDIT: - Just clicked the link - and they've now taken the five off. Clerical error then.
CortinaDave Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I was thinking both the 9's were accidental

Mr_Bo11ox Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 LOZZLE, three grand, who comes up with this stuff? 'Yeah i've looked on eBay and autotrader for a bit of research, what i'll do is make mine 10 times the cost of the next most expensive one and we'll take it from there, that way I've got about £2500 margin for haggling'
pogweasel Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Have a 'CAT D' Volvo V40:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ESTATE-CAR-FOR-SA ... 0312618510 S-reg full ticket, what would you give for this? £750?? I think that would be fair given a chequered past. Not for this chap. To you just £15,995 The mind boggles.
Father Ted Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Have a 'CAT D' Volvo V40:S-reg full ticket, what would you give for this? Not for this chap. To you just £15,995 The mind boggles.Bugger me sideways - I have just hammered out a deal that sees the wife sat in a 57 plate Zafira diseasel for £6100. And I still think Im being ripped off at that.
Ross_K Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Maybe it's like Carol Vorderman/Countdown challenge:1 5 9 9 5 -> 159 x 5 = 795 -> 795 - 9 = 786
Mr Lobster Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I can't imagine how on earth even the must drug addled Volvo lover could see that being a realistic asking price. Surely theres at least one extra number in there. And even if there is an extra 9 in there its still too much by half. GR8 ebay listing skills in evidence as well.
