Or a three year old M3 and about 30 Austin Meastros!

That's one of those dreams Pog has that start off all lovely and suddenly turn into a nightmare. :D

65k would buy a cracking Austin Ambassador of Ebay, the trainfair to go collect, the insurance to drive home with the rest to go to the Mrs to stop her walking out when she sees the fucking thing.

LOL. I have to say, my £65k wouldn't go on a Mk2 Escort. £10k of it might, but the rest would be headed for the biggest, fastest, thug of a luxury motor I could find. Quite probably on an alloy XJR... a 911 and an Aston V8.

Sixty five large equals a tidy Lotus Carlton and 12,016 double vodka and Monsters in Wetherspoons.

I suppose the reason I gravitated towards this place is that even if every single Fiat 131 cost the same, I would still choose one of these:

Not keen on any of the racier examples, having spent too much of my childhood seeing bright orange 2000TCs being driven about by trumpeting great cock-funnels.

Posted

I had a Mirafiori 1.6 single cam, then a 2.0 TC, then a Supermirafiori Sport.

None were orange, but I wish the Sport had been.

Nice car the Soopamiwafyuri, but not as good as a Mk2 RS 2000 - I had both at once.

I wanted to put this quote in my sig, but it seems PHBB3 won't allow it :(

131s are pretty high up on my list of want. There must be next to none left in this country though.

Tupolev Bear bomber anyone?

Ten million quid to you. And it's time expired so you won't even be able to fly the fugging thing. Still, it'd be GR47 for pissing off the neighbours. Especially if you ran the engines up at 7am every Sunday morning. :D

That's exactly what Dollywobbler needed for his house move - it's even in Cambridgeshire. Bit late now, really!

We've still got the main move to do - I even know where that place is as I have been there drooling over all the delicious Soviet stuff. Don't remember seeing that there though, and you'd hardly miss it!

However, the BX managed to get to the new house and back on £45 so I'm ruling this one out because the economy is poor.

Five grand for a basic Escort with no MOT and it's an automatic?

I don't actually blame the seller because it's probably worth decent money to one of the tarmac laying rally-look-a-like-brigade, but five grand for a car like that is just mental imho.

Automatic means it's got the large transmission tunnel, which is a big bonus. Only the autos and RS's had those.

If its never officially exported thats a result, as it means you won't have to re-register it when you want to use it.

Will stick my neck out here and say that's not too far out of bed imho. Estates are bloody rare cars, the panels bolt on on the P6 (and are pretty easy to find second hand) and it'll make a nice car with some hard graft.

As long as the rear quarters are with it and they and the 'boot' are saveable it must be worth doing up?

Posted

Kiddin' aren't ya Billy? You can find full on, working, taxed and tested Estates for not much more than £2k.

Posted

I though 5k was the norm for reasonable condition two door Escort? That does look in good nick as well.

Posted

5 grand will buy you a sorted 2 door (not an RS obviously) I think he will struggle to get 5000 for a standard 2 door car. it's not mint either

I would like that, slidey doors! GR8 4 FALLIN OUT ON CORNAZ N CHUCKING STUFF AT PEDESTRIANZ
