Does Devil's Bridge not have a fashionable discotheque you could frequent instead?

Posted

It very much does not. Friday is pub quiz, Saturday daytime there are no plans at all other than stand around gassing. May take a trip into town (seaside!) if folk are interested, but I'll play it by ear. Sat evening we convoy to the Internal Fire museum.

Remember as well saturday morning is supposedly a picnic breakfast composing local delicacies from member's home counties. Scottish morning rolls and slice sausage will of course be on offer.

Will have to find out what a Cornish breakfast is then.

Ginsters?

Eating Ginsters for breakfast would be making the fatal mistake of believing it is food.  It is not.

The traditional Cornish breakfast includes hog's pudding and Cornish potato cakes (made with mashed potatoes mixed with flour and butter and then fried),[6][7] or fried potatoes alongside the usual bacon, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, egg and toast.[7] In the past traditional Cornish breakfasts have included pilchards and herring,[8] or gurty pudding, a Cornish dish similar to haggis, not to be confused with gurty milk, another Cornish breakfast dish made with bread and milk.

Jesus, if I have to do pilchards & herring for breakfast I'm not coming.

I can bring Staffordshire oatcakes, homemade bacon and raw milk.

That'll quieten you down a bit.

Posted

Mmmm oatcakes. Lovely.

Eveyone knows the only acceptable breakfast is fried whatever you had most of the night before. Or sos, bacon, egg, black pud, beans and a fried slice. Or both.

Just a quick note - I won't be on-site until after 2pm on the Friday. You're very welcome to park up and explore the local area if I'm not there though. Steam train gets in at 11:30am and 3pm just up the road from the hotel.

This is not good enough, I want my money back, I pay my taxes etc. etc.

Posted

I should get there about 2pm if I have to go via Wells as I need to be there before 11, but later if you're able to do that errand for me (or if somebody else can).

I am going to have to cut short my attendance period of Shitefest Cymru. Apparently, my niece is having a 1st birthday on the Saturday afternoon. I was unaware of this until this week (I was aware that she was approaching 12 months, but I had no idea when...) Even though she will be oblivious and not appreciate my attendance at her party, it would probably create some 'bad karma' if I was not there...

I shall still arrive on Friday, but I'll have to depart on Saturday morning. As such I've cancelled the Saturday night hotel room, so that might still be up for grabs...

I'll make sure in future years she appreciates what I am sacrificing...

^^^ Bring her along. What better way to spend a first birthday. There'll be plenty of clowns, smoke machines, oleopneumatic suspension rides, an inedible charred flesh buffet and a treasure hunt (finding all the bits that have fallen off various shite-mobiles).

Sounds like a right party to me.

Posted

That's a shame Vin, but will be good to see you anyway. I've heard that the hotel may have a couple of rooms available still if folk are interested.

Posted

Is that because the other bookings heard about Shitefest and cancelled? ;)

No. I have plans on that front. The words Shitefest and Autoshite will not be amongst them. I don't want to repeat the upset of last year...

Can't see why the Malham Parish Council would be offended by signs stating either of the above placed 177 miles away...

What happened last year?

I keep saying we need to decide on a code name for booking car shows and the like.

Joe got told off by the locals. I don't want to get told off by my locals. Is SF too boring?
