What cars are on your 'to own' list?......

I'll own either a Lexus IS200 or an X Type Jag this year. I don't really like either of them but I know I'm going to end up with at least one of them.

I'm more or less on a shiters embargo due to zero space but I'm already looking forward to scooping up something cheap and cheerful once the C'eed goes back in a couple of years time.

Currently I'm keen on an early nineties 525TDS or a Bluebird with my sensible head on.  I'm also hankering after another early Kangoo van as I liked my last one a lot despite its many faults and it'd be good to have something to chuck mountains of crap/bikes/boards/dogs into without ruining a brand new car's interior any further.

Forgot to mention I do want an XJS. I'll need to dig out my dads old sheepskin coat though.

This.

Not a GTi but just a nice standard 1.1 or 1.4 GL. Either that or a Fiat Uno.

I was just checking out the Imperials on fleabay. Grandpa had one and it's a bloody swish car.

Where to start? I'll keep it to Autoshite budget(ish), although maybe not ethos.

Opel Manta-the one constant. Needs to be a coupe, standard body wise but with a decent engine and suspension

Range Rover Classic-3 door, early as possible.

Land Rover Stage 1 V8

Citroen CX Turbo II, preferably in silver. Grace Jones optional.

Rover 827 Vitesse Fastback, an early one, same as Tony Pond drove round the TT course.

Porsche 928-came close but didn't bite the bullet. Yet.

Mercedes w126 560SEL-standard, no chrome arches, just as delivered to the CEO in 1986

Renault 4, just because.

Rover SD1-needs to be a late V8 manual.

Skoda Favorit rally rep

Skoda Rapide

Tatra 603

Something big and Yank(my mates don't understand why I don't count my 4.7l Grand Cherokee as a big engine)

Alfa GTV6-the proper RWD one, nearly bought one years ago despite it having a fist sized hole in the bulkhead.

Thats today, this may all change tomorrow.

Interesting looking back 2 years to the start of this thread, I can only see a couple of people who to my knowledge have fulfilled their wishes, even serial shite buyers who've had many other cars not on their lists!

My list at 17 when I first passed my test was;

Fiat 128 3P- green

Granada 3.0 S manual signal red no vinyl roof

Rover 3500S red with spare on the boot.

In the intervening 35 years I've not owned any of them even though at various times I could have picked up a nice example of all 3 and still had change from a grand . Something else always came along or circumstances meant I had to buy something else.

About 10 years ago I promised myself a 3 door Rangie, they were everywhere and piss cheap,but... I needed a car for family duties so a succession of Discos took its place- same economy* same rust but not what I wanted .

I've given up on wish lists ,but if anyone sees a red 3.0 S Granny with no vinyl and a 4 speed manual, please let me know ISAs and pensions are for sissys.

Posted

My list extends to pretty much anything that has ever been built..

Beast get cracking!

Posted

Something two stroke, possibly a late model Wartburg saloon.

6 cylinder Wolseley landcrab, turquoise, automatic*

Ford Crown Victoria, one of the last civilian ones please, in an amusing color.*

Suzuki Grand Vitara, 3 door, and only a red one without that daft spare wheel on the back door.*

Audi A2 1.6, yellow.*

*No leather.

An itch that's been nagging at me for some time is, a 70s car-derived van.  So we're looking at Bedford HA, Marina, Escort 1&2, possibly Pug 304 again.  We always had a small van when I was a kid (predating those I've just listed!) and since starting driving I've owned or driven many.  Imp van might be fun.  I'll be very surprised if there's anything viable that I can afford though, even going up a size to the CF/Sherpa/Transit.

Not much room or time or owt at min, but:

TALBOT SAMBA S

TALBOT TAGORA (ANY)

DAIHATSU CHARADE G11 (MANUAL. LOW ROOF)
