Anyone want a one piece suit?

 

It came with the CBR I picked up yesterday but it's too small for me.

 

Size is UK46, I think it would fit someone around 5'6" to 5'8".

 

No idea on price really, 50 quid or so? Can anyone give me a hint on how much these things go for?8306bde79806bfeb38bd649192beab81.jpg

If you get 50 quid you are doing ok, people want astars and dainese for the labels, you might get 20 quid on eBay, a bit more on local fb groups as the purchaser will at least be able to try them one.

Dave_Q-I have a totally unused Baglux seat, in an equally track suit design, for a 1998 CBR600 FX/Y. Bought it thinking it would go on my 1997 FW, but Honda completely changed the rear subframe. The FX seat is removed with a key, whereas the FW seat has to be unbolted. Let me know if this is any used to you.

 

I've had a look but I don't think it would be any good I'm afraid - this is a 95 F-S so needs the bolt on type same as yours.

One of Honda's worst design faults that stayaye around for over ten years. Need to get to the toolkit under the seat? You need tools to get the seat off first.

There aren't any tools with mine so maybe that's problem solved. :)

Levels of win are off the scale there Nyphur.

 

You will be fine, just take it steady and remember that as you're actually concentrating, you'll be doing much better than most of the phone watching car driving drones out there.

Exciting times, Nyphur!  I was in your position 6 years ago - wandering around the house in full leathers and race boots, saying goodbye to the Mrs and boy before taking my life in my hands on the YBR125 and it's unruly 9 BHP motor.  "Where's the dog?  I've not said goodbye to the dog!"

 

I'm still here though.  Will you be going to Loomies at some point?

Best of luck Nyphur-although your probaby home now, relaxin with a cup of tea or large Brandy, depending how you got on.

 

I've found the only photo I have of my 1974 Mornini 350 Strada. For those that know the marque,you will see it was far from original.

Oh & move that lock! The most common way for a lock to be broken is lay the padlock on the floor & smash it with a sledgehammer. So wrap it around the bike a lot to keep it off the floor. It's normally better to lock the rear wheel too, as it's harder to lift that to wheel the bike away (this isn't as true with 125s).

I'd loop it through the frame rather than just through the front wheel.

I tend to go through the back wheel & over the seat. My chain fits my bike snuggly like that, but mine is a bit* bigger.

My first bike was one of these:

And apart from one "Sky-Tarmac-Sky-Tarmac-Sky-Ambulance" incident** all has been well.

 

You will be fine and broken bones surprisingly dont hurt as much as you would think. You will soon be finding the CG a bit too underpowered and yearning for something a bit more meaty. Just go for a 500 or 600 when you do - dont piss about with a 250 or 300. I still like a 125 though for commuting cross town, plus they are easy to pick up if you bin it.

if battery isnt showing 13.5v when running then its fucked

 

if bike wont idle reg rec (bike alternator) knackered which in turn kills the battery

 

old mans died on holme moss due to shit plastic one - new finned one and the battery was luckily ok

A similar thing happened to an MZ of mine - the breather hole in the fuel cap was blocked with wax.

 

Also check the fuel flow is sufficient - most taps have a gauze filter covering the inner tank inlet pipe, or occasionally within the body of the tap. This can block resulting in fuel starvation. You'll have to take the tap off to inspect it.

If there's doubt about fuel delivery, turn the fuel tap to reserve (if the 'new' CG125s have such a thing) & see if that improves things.

Possibly looking at a change from my MZ 250,either something bigger or a big scooter.Not really sure,my heads all over the place.

That the air filter is saturated with oil is probably a bad sign, no?

 

I would suspect on a Honda roadbike it should be a dry paper one - but if it's 'spongy' then it should be covered in a very sticky oil.

 

Oil soaked sponge air filters are often found on trials bikes and similar; but occasionally someone may try one in a road bike, because the  largest (and some would say best) motorbike company in the world doesn't know as much about air filtering as the bloke down the pub (see also 'spanny' pipes).

Yup - turn to reserve would be my guess as there wasnt a lot of pez left in it - before it was picked up it last ran for 20 minutes without issue on the Sunday.

Battery is possibly on its last legs , but once run for a while seems to retain enough juice for three or four goes on the button starter.

Oil filter ( if it's foam ) should be oily . Cg has a teeny tiny idle jet which blocks easily. Clean it out and put a paper inline filter in

Has it got a drainscrew on the bottom of the carb? if so drop it out & wait for the petrol to stop dripping, it often clears dirt floating about. Plus if it's stood a lot without a full tank it's likely to have water in the system that'll collect in the carb & fall out at the same time too.

Try it on reserve first, you can have a bit of choke on most bikes it's not just on or off. Some of them can take a good while to get up to temperature too.

Is the filter an oiled foam over a metal mesh? If so them it's ment to be oily.
