New tank for the gt185. Not sure if I like the black but beggars can’t be choosers. Found this one at a reasonable price. The original tank is beyond saving now I think, rampant rust inside.

I'm know this style is hated on by many though I find theres quite a lot to like about this old shitter in my mates back garden.

Nothing wrong with a KH or KE, loved those, especially in 175 flavour.

I was talking about bikes in general with an old mate a couple of weeks ago, we were expressing the lack of range and choice of bike styles and sizes nowadays.

Look at any 1970's or 1980's even into the mid 90's bike manufacturer brochure, all styles and sizes and prices catered for. Its just not like that these days.

I know all Internal Combustion is doomed but bikes seem to be hardest hit, you simply have to buy what they now sell, its rubbish

The above KH has been used by my pal to commute as it's historic status means its ulez compliant.

Have always liked them for the funky induction and of course as they have the correct amount of strokes.

Great colour scheme on that one too.

My 125 was a KH, but the one before this style like below. Had a wonderful cable disc! I liked them because everyone else didn’t 😀 I didn’t see the need for an RD or RG. I would have another.

Cables disc. Not many of those about hey. I'd imagine it could possibly work quite well. I also know that a good twin leading shoe drum can out perform some of the early hydro disc set ups.

@andyberg I for one think you should get another.  The red one ain't moved in a while shall i ask my mate?

I would be tempted but as my Jazz has decided that it needs a new gearbox and I have a holiday next week fundage is seriously lacking I’m afraid 🙁

My first proper bike was a blue (1978) KH125. It felt like an absolute rocket (once I put the right plug in it) compared to the C70 it replaced. Some of my fondest biking memories were made on that thing, it was a brilliant bike.

Actually got round to fitting the new clutch cable to the SS, today. The old one was so knackered, it sort of jammed the clutch in a position where it stopped the bike sparking. It sounded like a load of bollocks, tbh, but the geezer who suggested it was spot on.

Anyhow, after putting the tank back on and realising I'd not routed the  able under it, it was whizzed off again and righted. It's sparking well, but wouldn't quite go, so drained the bottom of the carb (twice) then sprayed some brake cleaner into the plug hole and it fired up!

Took the carb off for a good bath and the tank looks manky inside, so I'll have to clean that out.

I’ve had my KE175 ( the red one in its working clothes ) for 29yrs and in regular use . Took it for a 90 mile on and off road ride this week .

The yellow one I rebuilt in lockdown and sold , saw it at the NEC today . Was offered to be able to buy it back too .

Oh and finally replaced that shite 4mm allen bolt in the sprocket cover I'd been meaning to sort before it rounded off.

Yeah.

Another pissing awful Chinese scooter was purchased the other day.

May be an image of scooter

Note how someone carefully* used 87 square feet of plastic ringer binder covers and fifteen miles of Meccano to make a lovely* new battery cover. It actually started first go using the boost pack, it just jacked in again immediately as there's no battery.

In other news, I found a manifold on my old C90 engine, so that's going to get used on the SS50 and I'll probably stick a 90 carb on it, too.

Don't even think about bleeding the brakes, it's f*cking impossible.. ask me how I know 🤬🤬

And then a week after the Tiger happened (which sadly is poorly and wont run/idle properly) this happened:

s-l960(15).webp.472135001f69f68d24e655a0c293ec6f.webp

The rear rack, seat cover & gold GT stickers are going in the sea. But aside from that it should do very nicely thank you to commute to Preston nick on rather than the 50cc Revival.

2020 Royal Alloy GT125. 3K miles and 12 mths MOT for £1400.

Sorry to hear this, it was running ok. Might be worth whipping the plugs out for a clean, the bike has seen virtually no use for a while.

Im getting it collected by a local mechanic chap as Im a mechanical numpty, I whipped the tank off which was as much as an ordeal as I wanted to get involved in, to empty it out and then connect fresh fuel up. Ran a lot worse after I did that !
Dont worry too much its a 20 year old bike, its bound to have the odd issue.
