From first glance this looks like any ordinary 2CV Special from the 80s... But it isn't! It's a 2CV CT (for Confort) - the top of the range Spanish version of the 2CV.

Spotted this afternoon in Paignton.

Had a quick chat with the young owner; it was his first car and he's owned it for 7 years. It's been VTSd, had a bit of work and some new cams reckons it's pushing 150bhp now. He's saving up to get it painted!

That looks great, doesn't look like it needs painting.

Wow.

It's like seeing Tom Cruise picking through the bin tops for tab ends in Rutherglen. I was star struck.

What does the Highlander spec entail?

4x4? Big engine?

No and no.

This is a 2 litre manual. You get decals, cloth, roof rails, SIPS, alloys, egg crate grill and keep fit windows in the back.

That Rover really looks great. The Studebaker-alike ones are such good-lookers. You should go back and put a polite note through the door informing the owner it's not been taxed since last year, I'd hate to see him get into trouble for that. Not quite sure how people consistently seem to fail to tax their tax-free cars, it takes 30 seconds. (I'm not one of those nutters who looks up the legality of cars posted on the internet, I just wanted to see what year it was. 1954 to save you the bother.)

Oh dear! Yes it would be a shame for the chap to get fined or worse. It's quite far away so I'll do some sleuthing on google maps and send a snail mail letter.

Bloke up the road has two matching Bedford CF campers. Think he smokes around in a ratty 924 as well.

But the best spot for me was yesterday on the M5 northbound, a 1986 Pug 305 estate with registration ending 'XUD'. Unfortunately no pic as I was driving.

Forgot I had taken this picture. Spot it from time to time in my local area. Looks clean, and the owner is getting on a bit so probably had it a while. Epic.

Sorry for the abysmal photo, but I saw this rather nice Mk 4 Escort in Waitrose earlier. It looked very original with period stickers and nodding dogs on the parcel shelf but the spotlights let it down.

Looked loved, anyway.

Unlike this Toyota Hiace Super Custom Limited...

Fairly scratty, it has to be said - lots of bubbling where the roof joins the sides.

Yes, It’s the V6. From the street view it’s been there since 2008, the RX8 has been there for at least five years.
