Does/did that Volvo belong to someone of this parish? It looks familiar.

In my defence there was nowhere to stop and I didn't know it was bin day

Took a stroll up to the petrol station yesterday evening to get a bottle of milk.

Found this MZ with a delightfully homemade-looking sidecar/luggage loader/portable bath/cadaver storage unit (delete as applicable) sitting at the pumps.

Could have sworn the phone's camera clicked when I was standing right beside it, but owing to very strong low sunlight I couldn't see the screen. Only when I got into the shop did I realise the pic hadn't saved. Replacement pic taken from about 75yds away, so RUBBISH.

An oul fella with a pudding-bowl helmet and jacket covered in patches was buying baccy at the till, so I'm going to make a leap of judgement and connect the two.

Then on the way back, this combo drove past.

Judging by the welding to the bootlid and doors shuts, I'm going to guess this Sierra ain't being lovingly restored...

Whereas this clearly-loved late Sherpa Sport was parked up in Carrick the other evening, delightfully resplendent in gleaming BL Sewerage.

Finally, when down at Tatt's outside Dublin last weekend, you couldn't ask for more of a contrast.

G-Wagen was utterly mintola. Like, totally showroom fresh.

Hyundai Accent saloon was... probably functional.

Crikey Moses, what a colossally abused heap of shit.

'Gold' special edition too. Whatever that may denote.

Finally, there were a lot of these down at the horse trials. I never much liked them at the time and the passage of years hasn't helped much; I think I'm concerned because whenever I think about my own Subaru, a Santa Fe like this is the first image that swims unbidden to mind...

Doesn't the left-hand only sidecar rule apply in NI? That looks like an ETZ, which would make it post 1981. Is the image mirrored. Is the rider a tourist? Is it really an older TS250 with later tank and panels attached?

However, the "homemade-looking" device you describe though is definitely a factory original lastenseitenwagen

My motorcycle knowledge is virtually non-existent, but the letters 'MZ' were written on the tank - that's as far as I know!

Image isn't mirrored - but now you mention it, the registration wasn't a UK one, and in fact wasn't even a standard-looking European plate. It seemed to have some larger characters and some smaller ones, and was wider than it was long - black characters on a white background.

I'd hoped the close snap would capture all, hence not looking very hard - but it oddly didn't come through on the phone's camera.

Interesting that the sidecar's standard - it looked like the kind of thing my grandfather would have constructed in his garage from sheet aluminium!

Oh yeah, saw this driving past at lunchtime:

Bloody clean. Really. Someone clearly loves this Ovlov, which is brilliant to see.

It's got the black 'chipcutter' grille too, which gets me hot under the collar every time.

Sexual.

Probably Russia, Ukraine or Belarus.

Liked because it's unusual.  Styling wise, it is a bit compromised by the line of saloon side windows.  No Aldi carrier bags hidden inside Harrods bags  to jeer at.

This just appeared on my street, its safe to say I have welcomed the new neighbours!

He was kind enough to inform me I missed a local car show today .... grrrrrr

It's on the road my parents live on and apparently the chap who owns it uses it daily. Very much looks so! But got to love that happens. Especially on an old car nowadays.

Vehicle Age: 70 years 6 months

Last MOT in 2012 and nothing really of note.

Both exempt of course!

I know the first is a MG TF but what is the Rover?

Vauxhall by J.R., on Flickr

... but the same car. I passed this on the M50 going to work this morning. I guess it was over for the 2018 IVVCC Internation Gordon Bennett Rally. It's a 1925 Vauxhall 23/60 Kington Tourer - EL 1480.

Crusty fez van.. This is owned by a giffer that up until around two years back was pottering around in a fiat 124 saloon! in like a dove grey colour with all red oxide patches sprayed all over and the original plates ! It is sadly long gone now, My suspicion is that it may have got plate raped! :( Alas at the time it was still about time i knew not of AS!

This is parked in an area of cleethorpes that they are miserably trying to gentrify (good luck). Shame.
