spartacus Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Saw this in Rotherham the other day, just like being back in the nineties!Ace looking cars, well made too, apart from the rusty inner arches from the factory. Not keen on those wheels though, originals or Rotas would be nice. Tadhg Tiogar Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 My local Mr Whippy vanThe brushed pink paint gets thicker every year! That's probably what's keeping the rust away..... I once heard about a Ford Capri that went through so many resprays that it never had time to rust!

Yoss Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Highcliffe beach yesterday afternoon on the normally pedestrian only footpaths that lead from the beach to the to the cliff top. Very off topic but a few seconds after taking the above pictures this sailed past.So soon in fact that if I hadn't had the phone on camera for the Dodge I would have missed it. Note proximity to flagpole. We watched him sail past for another minute or so scraping the bushes before he managed to veer left a bit and bring it down on the beach, which being February was fortunately very quiet. The passenger compartment resembled a body bag which is handy when you have to scoop up the remains. Just zip it up and take them away. Anyway back to the Shite. In the car park above. mercrocker, AlabamaShrimp, Coprolalia and 3 others 6
Dirk Diggler Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 While heading to work, I met the Garden of Ireland vintage car club, parked in a carpark, on their Sunday run out The usual number of w116s, a w108 coupe, a very clean 340, a Saab 96, Ford Zephyr, a modified r5 that looked out of place and.....a Fiat Croma 2.0; hadn't seen one for years, as new, 35000 miles, with the smell that only Fiat's and Alfa's of the age still have. And I had no camera with me; I'm trawling looking for a facebook page Edited to add a link to their gallery; no Croma shots unfortunately but made me remember there was the Rolls and a BMW 1602 there today as well http://gardenofirelandvintagecarclub.ie/vintage-cars-gallery/
GrumpiusMaximus Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Not really shite but it didn't have a valid MOT! Not having a valid MOT makes it shite, right?! Although, to be fair if you get an MOT failure in something like this, it'll probably be more than the £1,000 fine to fix it... Clacket Lane Services on the M25. Whereabouts in Gravesend? I grew up around Windmill Hill and only moved away a couple of years ago...

tooSavvy Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 I posted a while back, seeing something akin to that B Tourer on the A66 slip/off the A1 Scotch Corner. Seriously 'biggles/red baron' leathers too! TS

GrumpiusMaximus Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Harden road near its junction with New House lane. Ah! I know where you mean. There used to be an old Defender in the front garden of a house on New House Lane - on the right if you came up past Woodlands. That was years ago, mind! I doubt it's still there. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw it. I lived over the road from the Vauxhall garage on the Overcliffe for a few years. Seeing those brand new Vauxhalls every day of my life was a living nightmare... Joey spud 1

GrumpiusMaximus Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Surely there's no MOT req now for that loverly motor (mot exempt) That's what I thought but then it did have an MOT in 2015...? One of these days I'll sit down and see what the law actually says.
adw1977 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Definitely MOT exempt, being pre 1960.That exemption started in 2012 but the owner could have voluntarily submitted it for a test in 2014. GrumpiusMaximus 1
Datsuncog Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Not all that common these days - an original UK spec Previa in central Belfast this afternoon, a bare few miles from where it was first registered 22 years ago. Looks like it's in use by a painter/decorator chappie, so doubt its immediate future is looking all that rosy... davocano 1
