OMG NO KAOS?

Tons of the stuff in Sandbach. So bad that one of the guys stuffed the works van through a hedge at 1mph.

Got a thin covering in Brixton, and enough to stuff my trains up so the journey home will be fun! Am supposed to be flying out to Iceland on Sunday too, so hopefully Gatwick doesn't end up drift-tastic and shut.

I rode my bike in today as I knew there would be a load on mongs on the road driving at 1 MPH if any more snow comes down and it will take me till spring to get home. Forgot to put the off road lights on the bike though as would have been well up for a ride back in the woods in the snow. DOH!

Very snowy in Wokingham, Berks & still coming down hard.

A little bit of snow here in Sheffield. It's got to be said that virtually all roads are very clear. AFAIK, responsibility for this sort of stuff was contracted out from the council to a private company (not S****o, of course) at some point last year, and the improvement is very visible (although they're a bit cheeky with regards to pavements- they tend to treat one side of the road only).

5 inches at home, took me 2 hours to do 8 miles.

It if fucked out there! Happily though, the zx coped brilliantly. A few hairy moments but with some revs and steering into the verge for grip it coped. Sailed past an M5 floundering! Smelt a fair bit of rubbery snow though! Tyres look clean

A little bit of the snowy stuff here also, but stopped about an hour ago. Roads ok etc. (Blackpool area).

Was childishly looking forward to some RWD fun, but not enough snow. :(

If it snows later I may try a OMGDRIFTING macho two mile drive to Tesco to panic buy some Horsey Horseless veggie burgers, some salt, cotton wool, several £2 hats, a Value fleece and 100 litres of bottled water in case the Daily Mail predictions of hat, salt, fleece, cotton wool and water shortages are correct.....Possibly.

Why panic buy water when you can just boil snow?

:D

I had best nip out and panic buy some snow then.... Oh, and three snow boilers just in case two don't work...

Edit. Oh, and walk to Freck for some bread...

Don't forget to panic buy some bread when you get the chance by the way. Am at a loss to understand why bread helps in snow, but everyone seems to be doing it. A few Hovis medium sliced loaves may help the Consul collection in some way. Don't go un prepared!

Stopped again here in Cov, probably had about an inch, maybe an inch and a half, certainly not enough to warrant the enforced snow day i'm now enjoying! The missus will have fun getting back from brum though, traffic does not look healthy there.

Lol my missus has just come in after going shopping this morning ( ) and bought.........a loaf of bread! So now we have 2 and a half loaves to get through now until we can go out panick buying again

She also got some haribo so she is part forgiven

It's been pelting it down here on the Herts/Cambs/Essex/Suffolk border, although it's poxy little sleety flakes and not really settling.

Haribo sandwiches. Winter food in pure form. You and Mrs Beko will survive the apocalypse and live to repopulate Britain!

A Spar lorry has been trying for at least five hours now to get through our village. There's a recovery truck trying to help it, but I think that keeps getting stuck too. Hope they get paid overtime...

I've been up to Newcastle (the Geordie one) and back today. It was completely clear with no snow on the road there and back. It did start snowing when I got to Retford on the A1 on the way back at 14:30. It's snowing quite nicely now in Lincs, and the back-roads are quite well covered.

I took the Van on a 20 mile trip to day. It was the first time I've had it out in the snow and generally its pretty good, could do with a bit more weight in the back.

I took a few shit photos on my phone....

Two thirds of bugger all in west Cornwall. We've had OMG FLOODING PANIC BUY BREAD KAOS instead.

Bit of a dusting in blackburn, nowt special. I've just spent the last two hours drifting the cortina around skelmersdale, it's absolutely deserted

I've seen some idiots driving in the snow;people do the most stupid of things, then wonder why they have accidents !

Bugger all really, just the snow left from last Sunday...Today, I even did the daily trip to Leeds in the Panda 4x4, only because of the overhead gantry warnings during the week on the M180/M18/M62 that there was going to to be severe weather on Friday...There was sweet FA on the severe weather front.....

I had to laugh at the BBC weather forecast earlier tonight, predicting the usual end-of-the-world stuff.

Apparently -1°C is classed as "bitterly cold" nowadays.... :?

Really, when the fuck did that happen? To me, "Bitterly cold" is minus double figures, -1 is "A wee bit chilly, think I'll stick on a jumper if I'm going out later".

When did we get this pathetic?

Yes, the BBC do like a bit of good old hyperbole, but this afternoon I walked for about half a mile in the snow. Wearing 93424934723 pieces of gear. And it was not pleasant at all.

Just been woken up by this being dropped back home to the couple 2 doors down.

Tomorrow morning should be interesting.....

And indeed it was:

Today, as correctly predicted, real snow fell, leaving thick amounts on the ground rather than the small flurry that made the street look like an aftermath of an explosion at a cocaine factory.

Due to the the Rovers wiper linkage problems, I've been using the Micra for transport and I am always surpised at the way it handles in snow, it behaves impeccably, ploughing through the snow like it was nothing. I dont care what anyone says about it, its a fantastic, strong little car that will be getting its due rewards.

The Rover on the other hand has failed me, almost leaving me high and dry. It shall be heading down Worcester way tomorrow for linkage swappage which will hopefully see the wipers actually working again, I want to use this car next week to go to work.

I took the wife to work at 8 last night. Langley mill to belper. Her vectra abs doesn't stop well in snow so the little three wheeler to the rescue. White over even on the bypass. Was traveling at a nice steady speed following a car when a muppet in a passat behind me tried overtaking us both. Car came other direction causing him to evasive brake in the oassat and nearly slide into micra in front if me and me to try to slow down without sliding. Mildly impressed with the little Rwd motor. Trudged through back lanes where snow was thick with no issues. Dropped our gert off, turned round to go back into town to fetch her workmate then made my way home. Got some strange looks by car drivers who couldn't make it up some of the hills when the little robin just dug down and trotted on!

I went out in the Volvo last night for a little hoon and I've come to the conclusion that its nowhere near as poised as the escort.

I managed to twat a the N/S/R off a curb too, bent the rim and cracked the trim a smidge. Bugger.

Got that turbo glowing again too.

A quick peek outside looks like theres less snow here than there was on Monday.
