I don't like to do this, but there's a chance I'm going to have to drop out of this :/ It's not the ticket cost - Billy, I'll reimburse you if you've already bought tickets - it's the other associated costs. Things are a bit sucky right now and *might* resolve themselves, but every time I've hoped/been assured of a resolution things have gone tits up so I've taken the painful decision to duck out of ALL car show commitments now.

I'd hoped to bring a clunker, but to avoid financial meltdown I'm giving myself till July for the Cortina, and Xantia is going off the road briefly, i think....

I think the cutoff for Chumley is 15 years, so 98 is the newest the car can be. That's bordering on new to me, my daily VW will be eligible for this next year

yeah 98 sounds new to me too. Classic car shows always have loop holes anyway like Jags, Rovers, Mini's, Beetles etc...

This looks to be a good turnout. Would actually like to go, but 256 miles from Herne Bay by myself seems quite a depressing thought, especially with no one to share fuel costs with

Right, no excuses now, I've just ordered 35 tickets! I'll let everyone know when they've arrived then begin the 'fun' process of sending them out. They did say they had a backlog at the moment but promised to have the tickets with me 'at least two weeks before the day of the show'.

 

I'll send 'em out snail mail (1st class) if anyone wants one sent recorded/signed for let me know in advance please as obv. this'll cost more. I would expect the total to be about £4.25 inc. ticket, post and envelope, plus 4% for Paypal's rip off charges, but if I can score some free envelopes I'll let you know.

If anyone has changed their mind then sadly you will have to find a buyer for your ticket as I can't afford to take the cost.
