What are we actually booked in as? I note the ticket states HBF Club. Presume we'll all get to park together? I doubt I'm going to arrive early enough to meet up with folk before entry - though I might bring the Merc as I still have it.

That's the badger, Ian. Just say you're with the HBF club and ( in theory) they will guide us all together. Sometimes they have failed to do this so so we may need to 'do a 2011' and just rob someone else's area.

When I get five I'll pm everyone my 'phone number 'just in case'.

I think setting up meeting points is a good idea for those travelling a distance or if there's a few from one area. I don't mind meeting up somewhere if it helped anyone but I like to be there quite handy as I flap a bit in case something goes wrong!

What is 'south' to you? Having looked on google maps for a non-motorway route in the event we come in a small underpowered car instead of the Maestro they reckon it's gonna take SEVEN HOURS* from Brighton  so would probably be up for a fair few coffee/fag/piss/bacon buttie breaks en route

*I assume they are basing this on the performance of an average family car circa 2006 rather than an 803cc economy saloon on crossplies, so it'll probably be more than that

my T25 driving mate now can't make this so I have a spare ticket here, usual £4.30 posted if anyone wants it.

What time do we have to be there for? There's no dopey bridge or trolls o contend with is there? I'm sort of double booked! Doh! Thinking about popping in for a leisurely hour or two or selling me ticket if anyone is desperate to go....

Posted

Got me ticket, can't wait.Be up for a convoy if anyones passing,be joining the M6 at jc 12.

The website says it's open at 10.00am and we have to be in by 11.30. Would suggest getting there as close to 10.00 as you can, purely because it'll probably be easier to find us and get set up so to speak but obv. it'll be down to the individual what time they want to arrive.

Posted

Yeah that's fair enough, it's a bit closer too. :D

Cheers

Is 10am not for the public?

I'm sure you can get in as an exhibitor earlier than that.

Posted

Did not get there until really late last year with M'coli and they let us in fine. Obviously try not to be late but they dont seem to be all Mr Brittas about it.

10.00 is good, means I don't need to leave home til 9.00.

You guys aren't planning on driving there and back in one day as well as several hours at the show are you?

I did the 3hr drive there and back on the day of the event the last two years and was shattered on the drive home after standing/walking around a field all day. This year I have booked a hotel for myself, Barmatt (and his wife) for the night before the event, I'm getting lazy in my old age .... Plus Barmatt is driving from Norfolk.

Yeah, so sadly it means we'll probably be doing it in the Maestro, unless I can convince work to lend me something better....

Posted

WOW am I finally going to meet mythical SPC fundamentalist L_Ron_Barrett?

Posted

Got my ticket, thanks Billy! Taking Le Fuego, so if anyone wants to take mk1 MR2 for the day?

Is anyone meeting at Lymm services as per previous years at around 8am?

If not, then how about a meeting at Lymm services as per previous years at around 8am?

We can do it in the grim slow car, can't be much worse than the 126. (I might book Monday off work to recover though)

Has my ticket been posted y the way? No rush like, I just wanted to know if I should panic about it not arriving yet.

Posted

Gary/Barrett if you're looking at 6hrs or so driving each way I'd seriously think about driving up the day before otherwise you'll be seriously knackered before you get half way home.

Posted

Indeed. I'm sure someone en route could offer some superbly luxurious* accommodation. Then you CAN bring the 126. I'd still book Monday off like...

Posted

I have permission to offer you 2 sofas here in Ludlow if that would help, main downsides being cats and that the kids get up around seven whether we want them to or not :)

Yes, Gary, a few days ago now so should have arrived with you by now. Keep me posted (no pun intended) as if it doesn't I'll organise a replacement. It defo has gone out though fella.

Hey Billy a few months back we discussed you Barracuda but I'm going to have to leave it as you may have read I'm trying to buy my Jimp back so all funds will be going towards that... I will still be coming on Sunday though so look forward to seeing you (all) there!

Shit and tits. I'm going to have to drop out of this, sadly - I've just been informed that I have to be in Brussels for work. Very irritated about this. It doesn't help that the Jag also won't be MOTd in time, although I could probably park the modern outside and bum a lift in.

If anyone wants my ticket, just drop me a PM.

I have a two bedroom 'work house' that I use through the week in Coventry, you're more than welcome to use it to stop off halfway home. It's very sparsely furnished with a futon bed, reclining chair and a few other essentials (kettle, microwave, etc), but feel free if you want to stop over the night/shower,etc, I won't be going back until Tuesday. ;)

ps This offer is open to Barrett/Gary, not a 'global shiter' offer. ;)

Posted

Hey, that's well generous, cheers! might well take you up on that one. Obvs it will mean missing half a day of work on Monday but I'm sure that can be arranged. I guess we'll see what 8 hours of 1950s motoring does to a man's soul on the way up and decide then.

Posted

Maybe it would be good to stop on the way up, I mean we're gonna have to leave at fuggin 2am or something! JESUS CHRIST MAN THAT'S INSANE.

Obv I'm happy to do that, remember the success* of the last time we did that though... At least we can share the driving this time I suppose. FUN FUN FUN

As I am somewhat disorganised I have done nothing about tickets, can I pay on the day?
