As everybody knows I'm a little partial to an FSO.

Doesnt look too bad Ben.

 

I've nearly all the panels for one of those ,and most of the mechanicals -if you get stuck. Most of it is near identical to the earlier Fiat 125 -except the running gear -Fiat 1500. Shout if you nned help

Just like to add my congrats for saving it! Was watching that and desperately hoping it would be saved. One as early as that must be very rare?

 

Also like your Caro's. I had a hatch identical to yours a few years ago and loved it but stupidly ebayed it for £100 when I was having a clearout and have regretted it since. Anyone know what happened to N180JVT? It no longer seems to come up on the DVLA website. I fear the worst :(

Benno, where abouts roughly are you based? I'm sure I saw a similar pickup to your Caro near Oakham/Rutland water around X-mas time.

Hi Chaps,

 

Thanks for all the comments, just looking forward to getting it home now. I managed to secure an old workshop/garage/shed (delete as applicable) near to my house to store a few cars in so at least it will be kept dry. It's accessed off a shared drive and I had the lady who lives at the top of the drive giving me ear ache yesterday, apparently I need her permission to use the drive but I'm told by the owners that I have right of access, I look forward to seeing her face and I do hope she is around when this beauty gets delivered.

I know of a y reg estate and I'm sure there must be others out there but being a 1979 v it is a polski fiat which makes it even rarer. There is a Caro for sale in classic car weekly for £450. It has tax until the end of April and has a few months mot. Also comes witha van load of spares, No it's not mine before anyone asks :D

 

It has a few rough patches but is basically sound. Here are some photos if anyone is interested.

Had my polski fiat delivered today, tyres were so flat I couldn't get it in the garage and I couldn't put air into the tyres as the wheels are so rotten. It is currently stored on the neighbours farm as I couldn't push it into my garage. I know someone that has four wheels so hopefully I can get those fairly quickly so I can get it in from the rain. I have some more photos that I thought one or two of you may like to see.
