Fingers and toes crossed! Never been so excited to hear about someone else's car's mot result!

Come on, My fingers are getting stuck in the crossed position.

Both my White Hens had spongy brake pedals.  I think it's a case of "they all do that Sir".

Good luck.

either its failed and theres a an rip

or it passed and yer flinging it up and down porlock hill

Failure means hammering a smaller Lancia over the top of it right?  But this might be the smallest Lancia.  So does he have to hammer it over a larger Lancia instead?

I hope he passed.

I just got it back, and it failed. Happily it only failed on a couple of insecure bolts on the front suspension, and they have let me know which ones, so I'll get them torqued up and wizz back down first thing tomorrow morning for my pass sheet. As failures go, this was a good one.

Good work man. After such a monumental load of repair work, that must be a good reward.

Great news , do you reckon it will tow my saab when it breaks on the way to wales? :-)

Bolts tightened between the hub and the shock absorber. Now it's all ready for the retest tomorrow.

Posted

Winner!  I was worried it might have been one of the bolts I tightened so very glad to find it wasn't, I wouldn't be able to live with the guilt!

Top work fella, that's a brilliant result!

Good luck tomorrow Phil, hope nowt else goes wrong!

And perfectly timed for buying a fresh tax disc on the way home.

Nice work!!! Although I'm gonna call 'grumpy sods' on the garage for not putting a spanner on these bolts and nipping em up themselves.

Yup -agree with Boll. I'd expect a fail -then 2 mins spannering on the ramp, followed by a pass.

Tis the gentlemanly thing to do.

To be fair to them, they weren't sure exactly what the issue was, just that the shock was insecure. They thought it may have needed spacers or been put together incorrectly. As its only been about a week since I put it together, I knew what I was looking at and had it sorted in about 5 minutes.

This sounds like an excuse to have an extra drink tonight to celebrate on your behalf!

As expected, nipping up those bolts has meant I have a pass sheet in my hand and a tax disc in the wind screen.

Happy days.

Get it down the road , man.

We're all awaiting initial impressions, followed by a fascinating series of minor failures..

Naah. Far better to park it up until the day you set off for Shitefest. WCPGW?

Brilliant - you must be feeling pretty damned chuffed with this after your epic efforts.

BTW, I spotted you in the Fester on the M5 this morning. I was the tosser in the Skoda Yeti full of Rover SD1 panels that flashed indicators at you - i wasn't telling you to get out of the way or anything, just trying to say 'hello, nice Fester' but we were both in a bit of a hurry and it probably came across all wrong. Sorry about that.

It is a very nice Fiesta.
