Mehari is starting to take shape, the orange paint arrived this morning, happy with the results from the airbrush. It's not quite a gloss finish, as these were plastic, I remember them being a somewhat dull finish, so I won't be clearcoating it.

So on to final assembly and detailing.

I know we haven't mentioned Sierras much, so to redress the balance here's two that just landed

I have a couple of other makes but I feel I need to find a Siku and a Hot Wheels before I can do a WDIB?

That AA Transit is really nice and I like those Corgi Sierras with those wheels.

I used to like anything fitted with them or the 4 leaf clover type because I think they were new in the mid 1980s. Most of my Corgis up until then had the more usual web-type wheels.

Thank's, I had quite a few Sierra's and Transits as a kid. But they were all in my giant tatty car box. Which sadly my Mum threw away after we moved. ☹️

I must have had a thing for the clover leaf wheels, as I've found my old VW Polo again. Which as a kid, was given a wheel swap and humbrol paint job. Complete with a black tide line and made up reg plates & AA Tax Disc!

It's made by Siku. As part of the Siku World range. It's rather expensive to buy new. So have managed buy some 2nd hand off eBay.

So I bought one of those 1:43 Monzas, and to say that I'm pleasingly surprised by its detail is a gargatuan understatement.aa8a619444ef650b00dfa88b24ef0eb9.jpg756f3c8a9f1f6e880fda670fd5c740d8.jpgd76eab6c7cff88be6b1f0c0ad604bc88.jpg

I mean, some of my 1:18s are shit compared to this.

I decided to have a break from working on actual cars and fiddle with a few of my miniature projects.

This is France Gall on Swiss TV in 1968, if you can distract yourself from her, can anyone identify any of the mini-shite that appears in this vid? None of it rings a bell with me. Thanks.

If it's not raining in the morning I'm planning to hit the boot sale before going to work. Hadn't realised until too late that it reopened last Wednesday. Only on here am I going to admit to being excited to hoak through some diecast rammel for the first time in forever..

Smyths and The Entertainer could be open Monday too, and hopefully charity shops.

Bet there's a shitload of unwanted die cast that's been sorted out during lockdown

Managed to hit up the Tesco, only to find they just had the stuff from earlier in the year. However did get a Ford Thunderbird and a Ford Police Car, no pictures unfortunately as my 3 year old wanted to take the police car to bed. I’d completely forgot but I used to do this as well.

I used to do that too! I'm not too old to remember I had a line of them just in front of my pillow by the time I was tired before my mum would come in and downsize the fleet to one!

My dad's old Corgi Citroen DS was my favourite or perhaps it was given to me because it had no sharp edges!

The MB Ford Police Interceptor is one of my current favourites as it's one of the few models of a proper US domestic, this one being a beefed up final generation Ford Taurus. It's one of the last proper American Ford sedans before.being discontinued in 2019 together with most of the European derived passenger cars in favour of ghastly SUV type vehicles.

I was trying to figure out what it was, my 7 year old said it looked a bit like my Mondeo Mk4. But it’s got a great big boot on it.

My littlun has a slide out shelf* I made for his high sleeper bed, so he can have a selection of cars beside him at night.

*OK so it's a bit of wardrobe slid underneath the mattress, but it's the thought that counts.

I can imagine these being a quick, fun project, and also incredibly light given what the real thing looks like next to normal cars.

Found this when I was looking for 1:24 kits, any interest on here?

Under £20 seemed reasonable for an oddball diecast of this size.
