Crikey, I'll have to swing past my local Tesco in case that BMW's appearing here too. Looks lovely; I'm generally happy to play hide-and-seek rather than order one online; makes it satisfying to finally locate one...

Very excited about the forthcoming Mk1 Civic!

Yeah me too. Once I have them they just get shoved up in the loft, it's the thrill of the treasure hunt I love!

Lol! I knew they'd end up in Tesco as soon as I got them!

(Any Tesco other than the one in Middlesbrough of course...)

Does anyone have a 74 Mercury Comet for sale?

I'm hoping to recreate the Gas Monkey vomit comet but finding a base is proving a tad difficult

Nope.  Went again in past hour.  Big Town Tesco down here has had no new Matchbox singles or fives stock since mid-December.  Box is Full of unsold Caprice Police and Falcon Utes and some Banana cars.  There is a new (£30) Construction set though, no interest to me as has just two vehicle and I'm surprised they think it would be to anyone at that money.

ZERO stock of Hot Wheels SHOCKER.  The HW box is empty apart from two unsold GoPro carriers.  No new stock since Christmas!

I'm beginning to think I have more stock in a cupboard at home.  Tesco - BOOOOOOOOO !

There's this earlier Grabber version,& a later custom version with wider arches.Loads of both on eBay.

At last I have replaced my (broken/lost/eaten) Polistel Fulvia HF Rally. I think it might have been the first model they did at this size. IMO probably the bestIMG_1107.jpg.be52849db30bb5be0e02cbdab4d2b450.jpgIMG_1108.jpg.d7f416658825520ed098b229afb6cfb4.jpgIMG_1104.jpg.1ec669d05c1ef90ec70d7987cd5d0a52.jpgIMG_1103.jpg.54cf38d459a754c2b42aef034a26ead9.jpg

Popped in the Tesco’s after work, unusually they had plenty in. Picked up the Banana Car, Sierraman Jr had specifically wanted it and the Caprice police car. No BMW 2002 but the 5 packs were down to £5, so might pick one of those up next week.

Cor, that's some very nice Italian mierda... the 3P and the Beta in particular. Cheers for sharing those!

Nowt so tasty in Carrick Tesco this afternoon...

Only last year's releases, still; no BMW 2002 yet.

Anyone still in need of a Ranchero or five?

I bought the CX on eBay.fr

Waded through the swathes of overpricing and won this for 10 Eurobrexits

Had to have it, especially in La Poste livery

Initial intention was to pop a motor in it for the track, keeping it FWD with motor up front what with the wider track. But haven’t had the fit of pique to cut it about just yet

2002 looks a bit chunky but I like it. I'll need to compare it with my HW version.

The Sambar is tiny. I think some of my larger 1/87 models are bigger than it.

I suppose you already know that the Gas Monkey example is in the '71-'73 styling and this is what you need, as the MY 1974 Comet had the new chunky legislation bumpers introduced, so be careful if bidding blind

1974-mercury-comet-gt-1.jpg

So for die-casts: only in 1:24 scale I think.  It's the one casting, sold under the MotorMax (Fresh/Sweet Cherries) and Showcasts brands.   MotorMax also did the big bumper model as their '76.

71-Zz-MNL-5m-L-SL1162.jpg

For plastic kits: Jo-Han made a 1:25 also in the '71'-'73 styling, but you'll be paying a $150+ for one of those as it was produced for a short time and pretty collectable.  The most common are the re-releases that had been modified into pro stock / drag strip cars with hood scoops and wider rear arches etc; yet still command $100

Looking forward to getting started on this one soon.  Currently undecided on colour for it.  For such a small simple kit, it's impressively well appointed with features having opening front doors, bonnet, and tailgate, just like the little thumbnail shows on the box.  There's a Fiat Ritmo and a Citroen Dyane in the same set according the the box, both of which I'd like to get hold of.

That Honda Acclaim didn't come from Tesco!

Went to Tesco earlier. I got quite excited to find a full box of Matchbox kit...

Nah! All releases from last year still, so if anyone needs a Lotus Europa, Thunderbird, Caprice, Ranchero or banana car, there's shitloads of them here! Although it was nice to see the return of the Alfa Giulia as they sold out pretty quickly first time round. Did have a good rummage just in case a stray Merc W123 wagon turned up but no dice. 9 packs were still 8 quid, one day I'm going to crack and get one just for the Jag XK8, W123 and Sambar...

Usual haunts again produced nada worth having. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt as much as anyone, and secretly uttering "Fugginggetinthereyabastard!" in a crowded supermarket when something turns up but days like today, and not finding anything on my want list (apart from the fluke Volvo 850 in Matalan) basically since before Christmas is why I sometimes say Fuck it and get them online.
